I think I know what you're talking about, but these hitch plates are solid, while the things I think you're talking about, the hitch is hollow. It fits inside the hitch and tightens to the receiver.
If I had MAD...
The only way, from a trailer shop, to fix this, is to turn them into electric brakes and remove all the surge brake stuff. Kinda pricey.
That, or just remove all the surge brake stuff and go it with the tow vehicle's brakes only. But be sure and take pictures too....
BTW, I was checking your hitch set up, which is identical to mine, and yours is as loose as mine is. :shock:
There has to be a way to make that thing fit tighter as to reduce the slop in the receiver.
So, quarkz, lets us know how the rescue/recovery works out.
Question, a deuce bed will fit on one of these right? The m45 just means it had a different bed set up from the m35, correct? Besides the special lifting parts, which in general, we aren't really that worried about.
Considering all the civie rigs that have the helper axle that do that, it really isn't that far fetched, ya know? Even some of the MV tractors have them, I've seen, or something similar.

The obviousness of that is overwhelming.
The first thing I thought was they had rigged it to lift the rear tires up..., but no...
So I saw this listing on an ad service where they claim their 10 ton had a switch, on the dash, in the cab that would turn the truck from a 4x4 to a 6x6.
Now, I know that the rear two axles would have power all the time, but that doesn't make them a 4x4... Or, because I don't know 10 tons very...
