I saw pictures of a bobber a guy was selling on ebay. the truck was an M35A2 and he had the truck fitted with a pair of A3 front fenders with the headlights mounted there too. A little strange looking, but if you want to add extra front lighting and you're not concerned with correct restoration...
That Pete air-spring setup looks pretty spiffy! How much does that setup cost? That's the beauty of bolting on a chunk of trailer chassis, If I happen to stumble across that air-spring assembly later, it's just as easy to un-bolt the trailer spring section and change it out.
I could just as...
Those plate designs are pretty spiffy! The only problem I have is I'm planning to leave an extra 15 inches or so in the frame of the truck so that I end up with the space between the cab and bed to facilitate mounting a tool box, fuel can holders and possibly a spare tire. That would blow the...
I was just reading and I'm glad to hear you got it out. I was gonna tell you to get yourself a good sharp cold chisel and split the lip of the plug, knock the split end in and grab the other side with a pair of vice grips, give a little twist and jerk it out! Since you've gone this far, jerk the...
After studying and reading till my eyes blur, here's a suggestion for the crowd that wants to bob a deuce. I was looking at various threads and reading the opinions on the best VS. the cheapest way to do a bob job that is safe, durable and reliable. After much banter about the pros and cons of...
I could be wrong here and if I am, I'm sure someone will call me on it, but being a welder/fabricator with a fair amount of experience in structural engineering, I'd say if you got a soft top, leave them in, if you have the hard top and don't plan on taking it off, go ahead and remove them or...
An idea?
Instead of tubbing the bed, why not just put two full length 4"x2" steel tube spacers under the bed to get the clearance you need for the tires? Also by spacing up the bed you can service the fuel tank sender and pump without having to dismount the tank. Weld your spacers to the bed...
OK, There's prolly something on this somewhere on the site, but rather than go hunt for it: Are there any rallies like this for those of us who happen to be on the left coast? California, Arizona or Nevada perhaps? Anyone? :)
I see M35s on craigslist here in California for $3000 to $5000 all the time. The one I'm getting with the winch and an M105 trailer was advertised for $4000 and I'm trading my custom Harley Davidson rat chopper straight across for it. I'm losing dollar-wise, but I'll be able to build the truck...
The only problem with making it go faster is you then have to do something to make is stop faster! How much is that disk brake setup again? WHEW! :nothingfunny:
As for #4, take a good look at the info provided here and this should help. I'm getting an M35A2 soon and I'll be bobbing also. How to Bob a Deuce.... In 3 Easy Steps Click on any picture to get details.
I get ya, instead of isolating the two tanks, Link them with transfer hoses top and bottom. When the tanks are full, you got 100 gallons (per 50 gallon M35A2 tanks) and when the gauge reads half full, you got 50 gallons. This is the epitome of the K.I.S.S. principal. Makes sense to me!
I've thought about doing this too, but my hook up idea was a little different. My plan was to install the second tank on the driver's side where the spare was, but hook the two lines to a "T" fitting with check valves on each side. Then using an 8-post toggle switch, isolate the fuel pump power...
I've seen a couple sites where they wanted just over $300 each and another site that wanted just over $350 for a pair. Needless to say, I'm gonna wait till they come down in price before I get a set. I'm guessing when China starts shipping them in mass quantities, the price come down and be...
