To make my Deuce run faster I'm gong to so something I saw on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show.
It's really simple. All you have to do is remove the glass lense from the speedometer. With the lense removed I can reach over and twist the speedometer needle to whatever speed I want to run.
Hummm...
Here is some gun truck info an old Viet Vet buddy sent me the other day.
You gotta love these names:
"Wild Thing", "The Eve Of Destruction", Ace Of Spades", "The Untouchable", "Psychotic Reaction", "Satin's Little Angel, "Black Widow", Iron Butterfly".
RE: Re: RE: Thinking About Getting a Deuce. Couple question
I don't want to bust up this thread but I can't resist --- I gotta ask gimpyrobb ... that's the deal with Gary Indiana?
It is because of the mean-streets factor or do you have a couple or three ex-wives there? <joking> :-)
Thanks all for the insight.
There is an outstanding talent pool on this site.

Does 214 have to do with a computer code or is it somehow connected to temperature?
Thanks again.
Several months ago I removed the water pump fan on my Deuce and installed a "not always on" electric fan.
The electric fan project has been a success in that it allows my deuce to quickly warm up in the winter, keeps it cool in summer, quieted cab noise and seems to have given me more power...
When attempting to track fuel mileage topping-off the fuel tank to a consistent level is a challenge.
I drilled a 3/16 hole in the fueling tube. It serves an an accurate benchmark when fueling.

The threads were stripped before the PVC nipple was originally intalled. I was able to remove the broken PVC without doing further harm.
We now believe the pump can be salvaged by butt welding (heliarc) an aluminum nipple to the end of the pump head.
The 230 Chrysler is an unbalanced industrial engine.
At around 45 MPH/2,500 RPM you will start to pick up a vibration.
The vibration is the engine talking to you.
Keep knocking on wood. :-)
I should have stated in my last post that the pump head is aluminum ... not cast iron. This "akuminum factor" could make things easier.
The stripped threads appear to be metric. They are not standard imperial or NPT.
I'm making a trip back to the shop tomorrow. Will try to get measurements...
Last week I purchased one of the surplus 24V Bendix pumps from McDonald's Trading Post, Plainview TX. For pictures of the pump see Flatlander's post on page-seven of this thread.
I'll have more information later BUT --- Currently I'm not sure if these pumps are usable. The outlet (pressure...
I also burn sawmill slabs. They burn fast but put out a lot of heat. Since I'm home all the time, having to stock the stove every 45 minutes during the day isn't a problem. There is a sawmill about four miles from where I live. I can get all the cedar and ash I can haul for $15.00.
There is a...
Wouldn’t it be great to cruise at 60 without having to go over 2,200 RPM! I’m definitely interested… got to do some homework first.
m-35tom … Do you know what the RPM spread is between 5th and 4th with the .71 gearing?
Does anyone know the speed ratings for Goodyear 395/85R20s? I’ve Googled...
Soon I will be able to read both pre and post turbo exhaust gas temperatures.
One thermocouple will be installed approximately five inches downstream of the turbo and another in the front outlet (cylinders 1, 2 & 3) of the exhaust manifold.
A selector switch will allow switching back and...

Houdel Sez:
Are you referring to the plug that is behind the Oil Cooler Bypass Value? By "behind" I mean "closest to the block"? (See Bjorn's picture on page four of this post).
Thanks --- there has been a tremendious amount of material posted on this subject. I'm trying to...
Is this what you're looking for?
This pump is on a rebuilt LDS-465-1A that I recently bought for my deuce.
If this is what you're looking for make me an offer via PM.
