    I had to blance the tires on my M35A3, look at the differenace in the weight it took to balance from one to the other.

    Oil in the bearings: Opinions wanted.

    I did some this way, i had to machine a new seal surface on the spindle and bolted the seal on. This will not work with the stock drum brakes and only on the rear. These were used in coal mine cars, some of the most sever conditions.

    The truck drives out smooth as silk at 62 mph at 2,900 rpm.I feel i lost about 20% of braking from the large tires.

    From my A3 i have 3 complete tire ( one of them is new) and wheels leftover and 4 tires. Someone I know left 2 ( A3) compete tires and wheels and another rim laying around here.

    I static balanced all 4 tires and added 14 ounces of equal inside of the tires. Got it together and when for a ride, what ride smooth as silk at 2,900 rpm.     I designed the complete structure and made the drawings and gave them to a structure engineer and he copied it and put his stamp on the drawings and charged me $2,500.00. Took me four months to make all the beams and parts and my buddies help me bolt it togther, no touch and drill needed.

    That is not a "winch and beam", it is a full transverse bridge crane max. capacity of 10,000 lbs.

    We have been working on this thing some more. Welded the mounts on the bottom fo the bed. Setup a spindle and balanced the tires, the first one was perfect, the second one i had to add two counter weights and lug nuts.

    Hey Glen, this one has been more work than i expected. Mounted up some tires and installed new O rings , worked on the fuel inlet tube. Finished up the fuel system with a new sending unit. Getting close to setting the bed.

    Bubba in the motor pool strikes again. I have handled hundreds upon hunderds of 2 1/2 ton axles over many years and see this all the time, bubba is pissed at his C.O. and through something in there and bolt it together. I see them with one spindle nut or two shovels of dirt in the bottom bolted...
