My 813 had a similar leak; After a 10 minute drive or so and wjhen going to park in 1st or in neutral I could hear it, but if I cycled into reverse and back to neutral it would stop. The air was venting out of the transfer case breather vent. after driving it around for a while and working the...
I'm trying to find out what vintage this Jerry can holder is. I'm not sure if it's military or not, but it looks too well made to be homemade. The straps are herringbone weave with brass hardware which to me suggests a military piece. The metal looks torch welded.
What do you think guys?
These are the decals I see from TNJ and they are the generic ones with no info in the info fields. I think the original decal (half of mine is missing) would say AM General on it somewhere.
I've seen the generic fill-in-the-blank decals, but are the original ones out there somewhere or reproduced?
My 813 is an AM Gen. so the Kaiser Jeep version would be a little older.
Very nice. What keeps that top retainer plate from falling off? Is it wedged on? I'm missing that part and will have to make a new one and I'm not sure what gauge of metal it's made out of.
I might be able to remove it and get some measurements for you this weekend. No questions at the moment, but I'll probably have one or two once I get the sender out.
With 4" of fuel in the tank the gauge is reading just past a half tank so something is amiss...
I drove my M813 up a steep road with 2" of fuel in the tank and it gulped some air and almost stalled out when the fuel sloshed to the back of the tank. This got me wondering if the in-tank fuel pickup tubes are the same ones as in the M939 trucks that seem to be susceptible to corrosion. I...
I may have to try the large crescent wrench idea as I used a 2x4 and large dead blow hammer and after beating it like it owed me money the door still wasn't in the clear...
My passenger side door rubs and drags on the rear of the door opening on the cab and needs to move forward to fix this interference. Is there a way to move the door forward? Shims or adjusting slots anywhere?
Basically, I need to close this gap.
I need to know what diameter the turbo inlet is where the preformed rubber elbow connects to the turbo inlet on the A2 configuration of 939 trucks. Parttarget doesn't list this O.D. nor the rubber elbow I.D. (that I could find) so I need an old-fashioned measurement.
Thanks in advance for any info
I picked up most the parts today. The engine was already missing the exhaust manifold, Jake heads, injection pump, and injectors. I came home with these pieces:
I'm now wondering if the intake & crossover pipe will fit under the stock hood of my 813 - does anyone know?
A few shots of the...
It is very tempting to take an entire engine, especially the 444, but my 813 will just get driven around empty and a turbo would mostly be for fun, loud noises, and to compensate for larger tires when that happens.
I met a guy who has an '82 Big Cam II 300 and he said I can take whatever I need off of the engine. I'm planning on grabbing the turbo, exhaust manifold, crossover air pipe, cross over coolant plumbing, after-cooler intake, and maybe even the injection pump. His brother also has a Big Cam ...
Running them dualled would look really good but if it's too wide that would scratch that idea. I was hoping dualled would work. I've only seen one truck running them singled and even though it looked nice, there are a lot of other competing tire choices in that arena...
