Thanks bikeman. I did just that, but then time ran out and and I had to log in again. I copied and pasted when I re-enterd the site. That must have done it. I will re-post now
A little help, I tried to post the pics but I couldn't figure out how to put them up as a thumb nail like before. Now you have to click the attachments.
This is the first post with pics since the updated website. I am still finding my way around. I put up the walls of the shower and welded a bit on the dinnette seats. I welded plates on the corners and the top and bottom center for the backing plywood. I also welded ears on the top rail...
The new shed is a bit bigger than the old shed. It is 10'*20'. I tried telling them it was art but they wouldn't hear of it. It was a nice dark green color. The nice thing is it went to a good home. A guy from down on the Jersey shore area ( not sure the city name but it was on the coast)...
Just a quick update. Hurricane Sandy took its best shot at us. We lost power for 4 days, but I had the Miller welder running as back up gen. Three large branches fell on the duece, but didn't leave a mark. Good old fashion USA built tough.
The city stepped in and made me get rid of the...
Thanks guys for the kind words. The $$$ is running out. Big bills came my way, Had to buy a new work truck ( 2011 Chevy 3500 crew cab with 8' bed). I must budget budget budget. Also trying to give up the credit card. If no cash in hand then no purchase , except to for business expenses...
Don't want to get involved in the politics, but was wondering if any pics of the build might be around. I love the campers but shy away from the above stuff.
I thought I would take a better pic of the ceiling and the side wall to show you how I got the 3" of spacing. I used a pieces of 2*3 as a shim and them attached the 2*3 stud to it. This gives me a total of 3" of insulation space, except where the studes run across. There I have 1.5". The...
I hurt my back yesterday so I will be out of commission for a few days but I thought I would post some pics I took a few days back. The studding is done. I plan on using up the spray foam ( when back warrents) on the ceiling and if any left over the sides. I think I have a little over half a...
Aright I couldn't resist. Here are a few pics of the test plate. I wanted to try the 9mm but since I really dislike the caliber I don't have one to try.
I plan on working on the inside today (rainy day). I will try to post some more pics of the studing of the inside walls.
Ok guys got a decent day to do a bit more on the outside. I was able to get the lower section insulated and covered with 16 gauge sheet steel. I put ast least 1 inch all the way around but most of it has between 1 to 2 inches. This allows me to keep inside space to a max. I did hate to lose...
The 110 outlet was gotten from a electric supply store and the 50 amp plug came form an rv supply place. Both were local. A bit on the pricey side but something that needed to be had.
Ok the plan with the lower insulation is as follows. I am going to box out the side with 1/16" sheet metal...
Your right about the winter and heat as a measure, but I am more interested in staying cool in the summer and finding out weather or not he ac unit will be enouph so I am still hoping for the hot temp.
Just a few more pics of the inside. I hope to get an indian summer with high temps this comming month. I want to put in the air conditioner and see how well the insu;ation does. I hope we get one or two more days of 90 degree or higher for the test. Just to give me an idea.
The next set of pic is the insulating of the inside. As I stated before I used the Dow froth pak 620. It seems to have done a good job, but boy is it messy. I accidentally got some overspray on the outside and what a pain in the you know what to get off. It was a bit harder than I thought to...
Sorry for the lack of updates. I have had a busy last couple of weeks. The howard county vietnam veterans rally was a great trip. My fathers a vietnam vet and I'm a non combat veteran. I had a great time with the family. I even got the kids a fight on a huey. But back to the build. This...
