If it were me, I would not fix anything that was not broken. A lot of these 6.2s have low mileage and some were well maintained. Current engine may have a lot of trouble free miles left in it. I know my advice is boring, but I have too many machines to maintain to have much fun. If I was...
If the key is in good shape, w no distortions, I think it is fine to leave it, as it is not a wear part. The new one would probably be chineese anyway. You are smart to replace balancer while in there,
Am in agreement w most of the above posts. I buy it for its added lubricity. An added bonus is that it is less smoky, this is nice esp w stationary applications such as tree chipper. Batches and suppliers do vary.
I have a 82 c-20 with one. Have owned several with and without in glass antennas. I find the reception not as good with the in glass ones, and directionally dependent. But if you mainly listen to a few strong stations, they work ok.
If I remember correctly from ad photos, you have the governor assy under the hood as well. I already have a spare, but I bet you could sell it to another 1031 owner.
Don't know if this helps, but if your wire harness is still stock, the are I think 2 terminals in the plug for the instrument cluster that should test 24v w voltmeter. These are the ones associated w the gen 2 light. Don't have a cucv dash apart right now or I'd tell you the terminal numbers...
Westport Innovations inc . I think their main line of business is converting fleet diesels to natural gas. Partnered up w Cummins. Supposed to be the wave of the future, we'll see.
I know you can buy a spring pack with an extra leaf or two. They are often added for plowing. You may also be able to add in an extra leaf to existing springs. Any spring shop should be able to help you.
B-20 blend is sold at one station here, and I usually fill up there. The bio blend has better lubricity than the new low sulfer fuel. Have not noticed a loss of power (except when filter is clogged) It does have a flushing effect on tanks and lines, so you do need to change primary filter a...
If you don't want any problems, don't mess with it if it is working. Its a Turbo Hydramatic 400. Replace the filter, change the fluid, check modulator if you want. These are reliable units, no computer, well built ect.
What is wattage of your block heater? Some of the tank types are pretty fast. I have found that an hour or so makes a big difference with any of them. If it is below 15f a couple hours is better. In arctic temps all night is probably good. Block heater should not cause any leak that...
Well that is criptic. Whats up with it? I did not bid on it but was considering it. Looked pretty clean, said it ran. A new windshield is around $200 installed.
I am on firefox and this site requires me to disable no-script about half of the times I log on. It did not used to be that way, but has been so for at least 6 months. Do not know f this is related, but seems similar to your experience.
You might want to look into what you could do w porta power or other controlled hydraulic stretching along with some light hammer work, or find someone old school in the auto body crafts. In my opinion that would be a better and more strait forward repair than cutting and welding. Especially w...
It is indeed a crap shoot. When they don't run, parts can be expensive. They are loud. You can build your own enclosure and add more muffler . In both cases, make sure they can breath. I am building a enclosure for my 002a, patterned after the Ask enclosures for larger gensets. If you...
