    6.2l fuel problem

If it is the fuel filter base, if you have a good starter and battery, and if it is cold , use your block heater. It should eventually start to fire. Is it possible you have bad glow plugs or glow plug controller? This will cause non start and is common. Check for previous threads on this...

    6.2l fuel problem

You may need an injector pump. but make sure you do not have air in fuel first. Even if you get fuel, if it has air, the engine won't start. A slight crack in a fuel line could cause a leak. But the cucv s are famous for the air leak in the sensors in the fuel filter mount base. If you have...

    Painting M1009 black... how?

Just speaking from experiance. When I was younger, drove some cool 60s chevys in flat gray to black. Never had a problem in my area where the cops knew me, When I went interstate , they would always find a reason to check me out, like 59 in the 55mph zone while I was being passed by other cars.

I'm stumped by my turn signals

I usually replace both flasher units, the turn signal and the hazzard, with commercial grade flashers. most auto parts stores stock them. Plug them in the same place on fuse pannel . They cost 15 to 20 bucks instead of 2 or 3, but they last a long time and make a solid clicking sound , never had...

The 6.2 s all used two batteries. the 12 v ones are in parallel and the 24v s are in sieries. Good to check grounding as noted above, also some of the cheeper starters have lousy soliniods.

    Painting M1009 black... how?

If you want to go though with this, be advised it may be a cop magnet. Anyway, you need to scuff sand the old paint, then I would hit it with a no sand primer sealer, I use Centari, spray, let dry an hour, run over a tack cloth for nibs if you are meticulous, and spray finish coat. Make sure...

Shoe Polish? Or a bad paint job...

If your dash pad is in pretty good shape, but cracked, you can get a dash pad cover that you can glue on for about $100. I replaced one dash pad complete, for about 300, it was fine, but outgassed chemical smells for over a year. I did the dash pad cover on another cucv and it worked out fine...

I had an occasionel death wobble in a 1008, started if I hit a pothole. Everything checked out tight. I knew the steering knuckle u joints were pretty bad with missing needle bearings in one side, but figured they could not be the problem as the hubs were unlocked, but when I replaced them...

It is common for a leaking sensor in fuel filter base to leak air in and not be leaking fuel, A pinhole in the fuel line can behave the same way.
