Re: RE: rear battery
This is getting a little off topic but seems like an appropriate place to pose this question about my vegoil conversion.
I have a goldenrod filter heated with two 60g glow plugs on a 30amp relay and the instructions say to connect the 30/51 load terminal to a direct 12v...
I'm too lazy to replace the starter and go through the trouble of converting to 12v, at least for now. I know there are some drawbacks of 24v but are there advantages?
Last week my 6tl exploded at the gas station as I was starting up to leave. It sounded like someone tossed an M-80 under my truck. The top was ripped off and acid all over the place. Apparently the previous owner didn't get the memo about running a 6tl in series with a Group 31. Just picked up...
Finally getting around to doing the WVO 2 tank conversion now that dino is $4.50 a gallon.
Need two electric fuel pumps for the CUCV. Any recommendations?
The strange thing is the rocker panels and the bed are in much better condition but all around the windshield and the tops of the doors are totally fried. My guess is that it's from salt spray on the windward side of the island. Plus they don't salt the roads here either.
Thanks for the input...
Those are some great looking resto picks Bigmick. I'm dreaming of bringing this M1008 back to similar condition.
Yesterday I started picking away at the rust just to see what was holding up the roof on the passenger side. The answer? Well you can tell from below. Is this thing fixable or...
Some guy was selling a cab on craigslist today. I was thinking about rhino/lava lining the whole thing and just dropping it in. Oh well, it's fun to imagine sometimes.
I went with Bridgestone Dueller AT III's (number 2 pick of Consumer Reports) an inch above stock. I figured it would be better for town traffic, getting into tight parking, clearing low garages, and I don't mind driving 55 to the North Shore when the surf is pumping. I guess I'll just keep...
Thanks for the insider tip, Goat. I'll definitely take that into consideration.
As for ProComp tires and 4wheelparts I think that I almost made a huge mistake according to this article. Apparently folks are prepping a class action lawsuit for all kinds of nasty behavior. I was kind of worried...
I was going to go with just the straight AT's for now. The ATX's are really expensive and it's not likely the Mud Terrains will see much use in their natural element until I know more about the vehicle and have taken the time to address all the neglect. Chances are if I tried to off road it in...
I just found out that the General Ameri550 AS tires that were on the truck when I bought it are the replacements for the infamous exploding Wilderness AT''s and turned out to be EVEN WORSE. There's a big crease running down the side and at 70psi they drive like shit and I have major death wobble...
Thanks, great to be here. If you do come out to the islands get on it quick because I think they plan to entirely cap 'em in concrete.
Actually I have some pretty serious body work issues that I'd like to get some input on. I just bought this thing off a painting company who neglected it and...
I'm new to the forum and did a couple of searches on getting the repair manual for the 89 m1008 I just purchased (tons of Island Cancer but only 34k and pretty good mechanical shape).
I am just about to print out the almost 1000 page pdf at Kinkos using double sided printing to cut it town to...
That's a beautiful setup. I have a cell phone with an MP3 player which would work great just like that. I suppose you could put a cig lighter back there as well and charge it up while driving so theres only two little wires coming out of the seat.
