I tested my new horn with the stock horn using some alligator clips. I wasn't impressed that the stock horn added anything. I did have to remove the front bumper, that took some time, but I am putting in a winch later this week so needed to anyway.

Definitely need a winch on any off road vehicle, HMMWV or not, for self recovery. Whether it's front or rear mounted, hydraulic or electric, don't matter. Without it you stay stuck.

Those strike me as all the disadvantages of staying in a 16.5" size (v 17) with none of the benefits of beadlocks (like airing down or being bulletproof).

They are a pain and expensive to source replacement, but the Sheppard box is superior to the earlier HMMWV alternatives.

More and more reasons to junk the two piece rims and switch to civilian 17 rims, unless you need the bulletproof inserts for some reason.
