Are you getting a warning buzzer with zero air pressure at the gauge? Or is the buzzer not sounding at all?
When running singles on the back of a deuce hub flipping prevents additional wear and damage to the wheel bearings. The M44 trucks (M35A3 and related included) came from the factory with the rear hubs flipped to run singles.

Even though the torque multipliers are made of Chinese cast iron, they've done the job for me. I used them to set torque on my A3 rim clamp rings (450 ft-lbs), using a 1/4-in torque wrench and doing the gear ratio math and accounting for about 15% slop (which I verified with a torque meter)...

Fortunately the maintenance TMs for the trucks go into great detail in how to do the job. Be prepared to carefully handle the hub and brake drum - they're pretty heavy, so you want to face the assembly straight-on and carefully pull it off the spindle and set it on something like 2x4 boards...

I think I understand what you're saying now. I originally thought that shift collar stayed engaged after 3rd gear and never considered it beingin a neutral position.
I wonder then if the noise starts in 3rd gear if that shift collar is related to that...
