I had an intermittent flasher in my M929. I ended up digging out the potting and milling out the flasher can so I could mount a Grote 44850 flasher in the can and use the OE connector on the can. I made a clip on holder for the Grote flasher...
Are you sure both flasher units work? You can easily test them with a light bulb and battery or power supply. The flasher connector diagram is on SS somewhere. I don't have it on this computer.
You can test the coolant and add the SCA additive separately if you want to keep the original coolant. I change all my trucks over to an ELC type coolant that doesn't need to be tested or have the SCA's added. I use either Rotella ELC or Fleetguard ELC.
How many cranks on that ratchet to get the transfer case into position Ray, hundreds? Made my arm tired just thinking about it! That wench is just the ticket though, I'm sure it would have been a bigger pain doing it any other way.

agazza2, did you mean a 30 amp plug and power cord? That is the standard RV power cord. You can go with a 50 amp RV plug if you want to put in a washer and dryer! You can get adapters to go from the 30 amp plug to a standard 15/20 120 volt plug.
+1 all new alternators are Chinese. The company i worked for was the largest after market alternator/starter parts supplier and we got out of that because you could get the whole thing for less than the parts it took to rebuild it. Now it's all new units. You can still buy the rebuild parts...
The dog bones hold the axles in alignment. If you have one axle on jack stands, there shouldn't be any torsion since the axle would have moved into alignment while on the jack. You may have to maneuver the axle to align the new dog bone though.
