G749 hood markings
That's a sweet truck that deserves more pictures taken and proper hood numbers, thanks for sharing. I started some research on this because I have a CDN M211 with US markings that I'd like to keep as a US truck but the number needs to mean something.....or it means nothing...
I want tracks so bad I can feel em' running over my foot. Saw a Volkswagon van bolted to the top of a weasel chassis for sale in Cali that I just about bought but I need original.
Weasel a few pictures our way when you can and welcome to Steel Soldiers.
Do you have pictures of that truck?
I was trying to find some info on flushes like kerosene or varsol but the best info I can find suggests dump, re-fill and run. There's a ton of info on mixing atf in your engine and it's scrubbing abilities are the only reason I could find 'not' to put it in...
I wasn't sure where to put this, if I missed it or if it's been posted before..... but if someone searches "problems accessing the TM's", this link to a warehouse full of TM's should help.
The cool part is you don't need to wait for downloads, just find your topic in the index and click on the...
bleeding power steering
I was curious about the bleed process and did a 'you tube' / TM search on 'CUCV bleeding power steering' and found a cool TM site I hadn't found before, thanks to your steering issue.

It's got a list of the TM items and a...
Spent some hours on a wire wheel this week and heard a nasty wire wheel story so I'm giving this Safety Reminder thread a bump.
I use a full face shield as part of my Personal Protection Equipment PPE when using wire wheels on a grinder. These days I put on a heavy set of Fire Resistant...
Plastic Paint Process Preserves Premium Pintle Perfectly
We did a visual match with the polyurethanes at Endura so cross matching with the actual colour charts would be beneficial. Wouldn't want to use the wrong Canadian green.
Found a few minutes to start prepping a spare tire carrier and...
Pictures are good. I'll show you my plow if .....
I went to google and searched ......"steel soldiers" plow.....
Under the first SS link on google there is a blue link that says ..............More results from steel soldiers.com
When you hit that you get a few pages of threads, well...
Ever hear of a winch grabbing a pair of scissors and trying to.......well, you know...slash your tires or something!
Another video showing why it's a good idea to tie a blanket or tarp or heavy jacket to your pulling strap.

Pictures man pictures.
I'm not sure if you're talking about the contacts for the points or something else along that line but here's a diagram and some pics. Let us know what you're referring to.
There are two circuits, the quickest way through this is on page 155-157 TM 9-8024. There's a...
Thank you! It's great that folks take the time to share the fishing rod!
I don't want to stump anyone but I would like to go through some of the more difficult search terms like the following.
"Glass Cement"
This is found on Page 110 TM 9-8025 when referring to a compound used in the assembly...
Need to find an old translation mechanic for this one. I don't know what it is yet but I see they reference it on page 109 as well.
'''''Remove all particles of gasket from body flange and plate. Make sure all traces of old cement are removed from seal surface inside impeller hub on pump of...
With April 1st around the corner, I hope the OP's sense of humor is bent and he's havin' fun with more than just the truck.
This can't be real. With all the Peer Review shared with those representing Steel Soldiers and Former Military Vehicle owners, nobody would publicly announce abuse of...
This doesn't always work but I googled "spark plug wires G749" and came up with this,

That's back in 09' so it'll be good to update a source for your area. Where have you looked for a wiring harness? Any parts trucks...
That's how you do it. One day I had enough time to remove 1 box bolt. That's what I did.
Good to see you keeping at it! Do you know what the truck will look like when it's finished yet?

Not sure what it's for but if we bolt it on over the muffler we could warm up pizza on it.
Any idea what the truck had on the back before? I'm still hoping for truck pictures, spring can't come quick enough.
Winter recoveries
Weekly safety bump.
We got er' good. Had a prairie storm blow through big enough to stop a train in Saskatchewan http://saskatoon.ctvnews.ca/train-trouble-in-saskatchewan-1.1206930
and cause a big pile up on Highway 2, South of Edmonton...
My pop is 86 last March 16th and his birth date was on a truck I found at a scrap yard. The truck is now a preserved M135. It's amazing what 'sentiment' can accomplish.
If your out-riggers and boom are hydraulic and if you can't get it running, would you be able to open fluid lines and squeeze...
