    1952 M-135 axles

G749 axle TM9 1819AC 1-6 on JATONKA's M135-211 TM  download page should be a start. Downloading takes some time but having the TM's around is helpful. Having the original TM book with the truck is cool too and some are available (google "tms m135 m211") but most info is on the net, free.

    1952 M-135 axles

1950's pinion bearings Get out the binoculars, you got some hunting to do. Fun trucks, get some pics up in the Early Deuce Forum when you can. If you have purchased "New" parts from a cross reference to replace old parts, can you post the new part numbers. Building a database for these trucks...

    XM211 driveline binding up?

binding Man I gotta read slower, I thought you said 'when you dragged the wife', whew. AMGeneral, Mine feels heavy and idles real low so I need to pedal her to get it to roll in high range. I can throw it in neutral on a slight incline and she starts moving on her own but what you describe...

    G749 preservation

Winter Preparations Getting ready for winter means taking friends and family members for rides and finding some photo ops' while the sun still shines. Last weeks grease, timing adjustment and anti-freeze was inspected by the kids new dog and we're ready for the barn. I did fill the tank so...

    1953 M135 Rebuild Project.

Box off maintenance That motor looks complete, sweet. Is the fuel tank/system in good shape? Prior to firing I added an in-line fuel filter in front of the "micro filter/screen" in the fuel line inlet on the carb, just in case. The little screen in the carb was plugged solid so had I not...

    My GMC, a little update

Aerodyne sleeper Found a pic of the 72' Chev in about 1984 after it's first paint. Built the sleeper in 81' when aerodyne and cedar was in. Big enough to lay down, stand up or both at the same time. The plexi-glass cockpit style windows gave a nice view over the cab while riding down the...

    Cold weather starts

CUCV Oil heater vs block heater Oil Pan heater for the truck as a priority, circulating block heater for the cab/ motor as secondary. Frozen solid seats are overcome with soft cushion butts and 3 layers but cold oil is lazy. Not sure why I can't find English tests but the cold temp oil test...

    Cold weather starts

6.2 cold starts TM questioned We need to mention 2-53 and 'depressing the throttle pedal'.......prior to starting. Previous owner suggested "Pushing and Releasing" pedal which sets 'high idle' on this M1010 for cold starts. After several minutes of running at high idle this M1010 kicks down to...

looking for instructions on how to install bows and cover

Paulin on 5 ton There is no way to tell if it's on correct unless the mechanic is standing next to it. If you're bringin' the 5 ton down I'll get the pictures done with the two mechanics posing next to it in the shop. If your mechanic is cool like that. Some interior pics of the tie-down would...

    G749 preservation

Fuel supply pump G749 Stan, can you hustle up a name and possibly a part number for the pump that worked for you please. The low pressure demand on the carb and knowing that alterations and plumbing "in-tank" is required will save a lot of grief for some of us. Thank you, thank you very...

Powder on top of paint Good call Tplane. You prompted me to make a call and.....they've gone for the day but I will dig some more info up. Heat tolerant paint was what they mentioned and suggested "Endura" which is what the truck was painted with. They also seemed very relaxed about it and...

    Cold weather starts

Diesel Cold Start The coldest temp up here was around -56 f and we get weeks at -4 f continuous. My favorite is -40 f where diesel begins to gel and gear oil can lock differentials. It may be overkill but a battery charger, generator, booster box(s) and/or back-up gas vehicle come with us when...

Nail polish Seano, I'm really hoping that you're not wearing the nail polish, it's not Green. I really miss your mechanic in my shop, upside down, inside out, backwards...who cares.

    Need Bow measurement M135/M34

M135 Bows and troop seats Useless info used. My job is done, thanks. Had you asked the question a minute before I posted the info, I'd look so much better so next time, ask away. Do you have a KB thread, I need to see it. Stan or someone will need to chime in because an observant look at the...

MIRAMAR AIR SHOW OCT. 2012 (Display Your MV within 100's of thousands of people)

Miramar Airshow With great sadness I'm not going. Checked flights last night and it's just over $500.00 round trip, not a bad price. It's cold here and too wet to work so California looked so good. My buddy drove down from Edmonton to meet me there. Then the snow and rain hit putting my crew...

    Need Bow measurement M135/M34

Chains on troop seats The chains don't show up in the TM so I don't know about their originality. We have adjustable sides XX for the top bows K so they can be in the down position with the pins attached to chains hanging on the side or you can lift the bows and slide the pins into holes in the...
