Noticed something strange while steelsoldering on my ipad. Once logged in, I can work normal as long as I stay in the forum submenu. When I try to go to today's post, the "you appear not to be logged in" page appears and the site works like I am not logged in??? Tried several times, so its not a...
OK, that makes sense.
I was looking on the M915 series (Freightliner) and there it said
However, on the M939 series, to which the M923 apparently belongs, it mentions
So an M915 rig could go quicker safely, but an M923 doing over 70 mph is way beyond its safety margin, not only or not...
It looks like it, but is the set-up of the dump bed similar as the M50s and the M800s? That is, the tractor has the same wheel base as the dump but only a single frame? If so, putting the dump on the tractor using its own sub frame should be easy, and the dump subframe already has the larger...
I am a safety first person also, but just for the sake of devil\s advocate and pure curiosity.
I am not familiar with the 900 series but to me they always sounded more like a normal road/highway truck than the good old "real " 5-tons like the M50s and the M800s. Even when in the 1980s...
Welcome from a fellow European from two neighboring countries (Czech Republic, Netherlands). Did you got the truck through a surplus sale or from a private party?
I had the same paperwork problems with my M51A2 from 1973 but in the end I got a Dutch-EU vehicle approval backdated to 1973 so the...
Ditto in spades. Quicker and cheaper to do everything in one go, including the flex lines. But first, change your Deuce to a dual brake system. Next time you will not have enough room for a slow brake - run out after a brake failure like that.
Now if the Locomotive was nominated it would be an easy score, hands down. Do we vote for the truck, the trailer, the complete rig or the locomotive as well??? :jumpin: Mind you, each and every of the components is impressive.
Actually, there is quite a difference with the real French 404 roadster
The full type looks like this
I have a pic (not digital) somewhere me as a much younger boy repairing one. If I find it I will post it.
Those drivers must have pretty stable nerves, driving like that on snowed-under tracks with a crossing coming up. Looks like most of the time the drivers do not see a thing with the snow blowing up in front of them.
[thumbzup]
You're right, a lot of info here already, take your picks before you get swamped with more.
I think you're doing a great job "above and beyond the call of duty" on this one helping out your daughter. If you and she do not mind, let us know what her ideas and final choices are.
Even...
We should not hi-jack this thread going into this discussion but .....
I can agree with that but it needs explanation. It is not that the US Safety standards on all points are much more stringent than the European. Often, its the opposite. Unfortunately, car makers already complain 50...
The J70 is the one I was talking about also. Actually, I learned something new, that is, that this line line never was introduced in the USA, where the focus was more on the comfort line. The USA had the J40 (old real jeep, I drove it from Harrisburg to Seattle in 1980) and the comfort lines J60...
