While shooting pics and video during a fish harvest of one of the fish ponds around here, I noticed this kitchen trailer. made some pics to share here. Actually, would not mind having one.:beer:
We are now starting to upload some videos about our project of restoring the M51A2. Tonight only the first video, tomorrow and later more to come.
The video's are not on youtube but on our own website; I like to keep our material private and under our control. Feel free to give comment on...
I was with the sand blasting company today and discussed the options. They were just busy finishing a truck they had bought as wreck for their own company and had done the same as you. Good live example. I showed them my pictures and asked about options and costs.
First estimate, just sand...
Thanks for the update on this. It looks you really almost went to bare steel with blasting, much further than I initially thought from your pictures. My son (a blacksmith) has a small very old blasting unit (if it still works) so we would use that. Apart from the engine, blasting around wiring...
I like the beginning shots in the video where you see the tarp bows in the mirror.
Snatched some time here and there to read through this entire thread. Great work. [thumbzup][thumbzup][thumbzup]
You gave me some ideas how to handle cleaning and painting our truck. I got a headache only...
None taken; I should have added a wink smiley. I know a bit about why most of your European ancestors left Europe, although our websites on that topic urgently need to be updated and integrated better: "Why they left" and how we explain this in our Czech Emigration Museum. As you see, we still...
Interesting article. Basically it seems that, against all intuition, in a civic person car it would help the car to stay put by opening the downstream door and let the water in, hence lessening the buoyant force of the vehicle. At least as long as we are talking only about a feet or a bit more...
In Europe, scrap prices are between 110 ("dirty") to 180 EUR ("clean") per metric ton (1000 kg or 2200 lbs, when the ##$% will you guys shift to world standard, that is, metric).
That means that a 10 ton truck will bring something around 1500 EUR or 2000 US$$ scrap price. US will be a bit...
SS here is a victim of it's own success. That is the problem of not being on-line every day and the time-difference between Europe and the US. This week I went through the entire thread of our new admin from last year (head of for the achievements). When that thread ran, it was in a time I had...
When I try the member map, I see it fill up and then goes out and the following message appears
Something on SS side or should I change any settings in my browsers?
I was looking at that contraption on the auction site. This guy must have done a lot of home-improvements. Somebody of the SS crew now should say to you (or your buddy) "Welcome to the Wrecker Club".
Definitely wouldn't have minded to a few hours driving just to see all the stuff...
I would put the numbers of the unit you had in Germany on it, but I would also try figure out where that old Deuce now is; still running around, sold like surplus or scrapped.
The time is coming that we start work on the brakes and steering and certainly after hearing several horror and almost horror stories with failing brakes, this is the one change I want to make if possible.
We are over a year further since the last post. Any new ideas on this?
Anybody finally...
If I would do that with your name and threads started, I end up with 4 pages (threads started) or 40 pages (postings) :); still a lot to search through.
3dangus, I often use advanced search, just did not know it did this trick automatically and never checked it because most forums work...
Each forum or sub-forum has the option "search this forum" down to "search this thread". Would it be possible to make the search function also active inside your user CP in the subscription threads? I am trying to find some of my own posts there and end up running through several pages of...
Thanks Ron,
The Hobby Fan catalog gave an error message on the M51 dump truck (item nr HF-055), but I found it through a review site. Boy did I get a shock. Out of this world too long: 180 US$ for a 1:35 resin model. There is one on eBay for 70 Eur. Both are a bit too much for me, even as a...
Tempting, tempting. Next summer might be possible, this year not, we are broke. trying to find your route, I came across this these pages. We would drive close to two hours to take our 2-weekly bath in the Liard hot springs, I have similar slides from 1981.
His day 8 follows your route up North...
Title says it all, more or less. Does a 1:24 scale model of a M51A2 exists? Preferably with moving dump bed?
Yes I did try search but nothing came up apart from this M51 recovery vehicle, which is a tracked vehicle.
