It is always best to test any device under full load, just because it passed/failed under no load does not mean it will pass/fail under a full load

You would fry the one wire as it is not meant to carry the full load of all the glow plugs, It would be more correct to say it is looking for a large load, .5 ohms at 24V will carry around 50A

If you by chance connected the 290/291/537 wire (page 141 of the supl) to the 24V tap in the battery box you more than likely have fried the TCM/TCMs

Anything over around 15PSI starts to affect the timing, it has nothing to do with the amount of fuel delivered. All 6.2/6.5L IPs can be turned up to far over deliver fuel so you do not need to change pumps (or IPs) to really screw things up.
