I'm not sure how replacing every component in a 6.2 and adding twins along with water injection (not to mention probably cutting its service life down) is comparable in price and practicality to a base 6BT or ISB which would take nothing more than some turbo/IP mods...

Anything marine will also work like Boatlife. Usually better rated for UV durability plus it will hold the rack in place without any bolts. I would almost go as far as sealing it from the inside as well under the headliner. After it sets up use a garden hose to test.

I agree that the 6.2 gets a bad rap and they work well in stock form. Would you really want to have a 400-600hp 6.2? It is like a grenade with the pin out. Do you have any data on this marine 6.2 because I'm very skeptical on that number being a stock figure.

I'm not an expert with diesels or propane injection but I think the only advantage of propane on an NA diesel is maybe more complete combustion. Putting any more hydrocarbons into an NA diesel whether it is diesel or propane will result in over fueling and black smoke. Probably why no one does...

Your slugglish concern is what I like to call normal performance for a M1031 on 37's carrying around 'some equipment' in the box...too bad these trucks don't have a real Detroit diesel :p
Two things
One, when you are welding those rims, how do you center the insert up for run out? Do you just throw it on an axle and spin it up with a dial indicator? Does it tend to warp while cooling?
Two, you are moving at too slow a pace...I need turbo shots and I need them now!!! You can't...
I would say spend more time and resources on items such as a fuel fired heater to get your truck warm in the morning, gauges, maybe an overdrive for lengthy road trips, etc.
