What a steal of a deal for you on that ole Deuce. Recon we don't have to ask you for pictures anytime soon. Welcome aboard, stow your gear & prepare to get underway. Wait, you already live on a boat so you are good to go from the start. Good luck with the truck as you restore her as you like!
No, the panel that came with the unit has two knockouts just like the original. I did change out both valves due their poor shape & age with Haldex KN20025 & KN20035 as suggested replacements from another LMTV owner!
I couldn't auction off the wife for any price, so I gave her away, along with the payment book to an unsuspecting older guy who thought she was a good find (bet he doesn't think that now). Thanks for the note on the garage stuff, its guy stuff for retirement one day soon.
Get one! They fit right in & you have the option of installing a/c if you chose that route in the future. I got one to replace the non functional one that came in my truck! You will not regret it!
I am still awaiting a title on a 1996 S&S LMTV that I bought back in late April. During the checkout process, I was unaware of having to request a title & so it was a month later that I filed & sent in the correct paperwork to get the title. After waiting a month, I called in to see what was...
While I was idling the truck, watching all the functions on the dash panel, the voltage would start out around 26 vdc on the guage. After running for 15-20 minutes, the guage would drop into the yellow area below 24 vdc range, what gives with the voltage drop on hot batteries?
Today was the day to remove one of the leaking cab support air bags for inspection, after the fun of working in the July Florida heat; the air bag was removed
& tested & it was a bigtime leaker around the base, which I thought so after a short run a week or so ago. As per Suprman's...
Get the dolly, I got one NOS from Uncle Sugar @ GL for $100.00 & never looked back. Makes removing those wheels less of a huge pain & more of a breeze!
Scrap yards are on base & civilians are not allowed to remove anything, much less be there unless on official business. The scrap is auctioned off & demilled into tiny bits of what ever it was before being released! It is a tightly run ship!
Looks like I was your only taker on the auction since I was outbid on a lot of them from GL a month ago. Unit is sitting in my kitchen waiting to be installed! It was slightly damaged in transit, but easily repaired!
Now you are a locksmith for LMTV doors & such. I have worked on locks like that & made keys to work, but have never seen the inside of an LMTV cylinder. A great thank you for the pictures & explanation!
Looks good & it is functional, @ least you have a roof turrent cover & serious insulation to stop the heat & weather from pounding into your truck & you!
My $$$ whirlpool is less than yours, but is trying real hard to equal it. I am working on necessities only for now to get her running for the meet this fall here in Florida, but I am failing to get the darn brakes to act right. It looks like I will be bring the Deuce to the meet as she is/has...
Turning them off didn't make a difference in the air loss during the inspection time of 15-20 minutes. I think my happy ride down 5 miles of dirt road caused the left airbag to rupture & make the entire brake system start to drag. I will probably be proved wrong in my thought process, but @...
Okay, after getting home & starting her up, I turned off the cab air @ the hydraulic panel & watched the brake air guages. Front air pegged as the rear air hit 75 psi. The rear brake air maxed @ 100 & then you could hear the air coming out of the drivers side air bag; getting down next to it...
When I got the truck, the rear service & emergency brakes had the rubber covers removed, but were not caged. The caging tools were not in the holders, So I am lead to believe that it might have been caged when it went to DRMO & they robbed the caging tools. The truck came off the transport with...
