Pray tell where the tractor valve is located as after many hours looking thru the TM's equals brain lockup! Not to mention that the mechanics removed all the caging bolts from the rear axle & the rubber sealing plugs!
Murphy must have been busy with some other FMV out there, good job bringing her home. Now we need a detailed after action report with pictures when you get a chance!
I'm 60 now & bought a Deuce two years ago & an LMTV two weeks ago. The LMTV is easier to drive around & the Deuce requires preplanning if I'm going to take it work or to a show; but wouldn't trade either of them. They just have that many smiles per miles factor regardless of the cost of...
The old farm electrical systems of yesteryear were 32vdc from the power system grid. They did kill a few people unfortunately due to folks not knowing that the low voltage could kill them.
Be careful around the 24vdc systems on these trucks as they can zap you when you least expect it. Most...
It's more of a divestment of your money from your wallet to Gov Planet. It is like a boat that always needs something else new or repairs on the original boat. When you go to sell it, you will never (except in a rare case) get you money & time back out of it! IT's a hobby that most, if not all...
If I had to tow the M353 350 miles, it might still be on the side of the highway! With the tires aired down, it would be a different story as long as the trailer didn't start that bouncing @ 32 mph! The full sized truck that towed it 80 miles had no bouncing @ all? Even @ interstate speeds!
Now...
Welcome to the club & you forgot to post pictures so we can see your new ride. My air buzzer does not operate at all, probably disconnected along with other stuff the mechanics were digging thru before they sent her to DLA! Enjoy the new hobby!
Its an alien nasal/ear probe; designed to see if the driver has enough sense to figure out the battery system! My truck has the same little gadget & all the batteries seem to be fine. The truck cranked up fine with no problems, but I charged the batteries till the charger quit pumping in juice!
I found one of those in my truck several days ago, it was on the transmission hump in a pile of fur & bones. Its wire eating days are long gone.
I hate mice as they have gotten into two trucks of mine & wreaked havoc on the wiring & hoses. Moving them to another location in the yard stopped the...
Re: Air pressure on the brakes of an M1081!
I can't build air pressure past 60 psi in the rear brakes & the front brakes gage is not registering any air pressure. The front brakes work well, but the rear brakes won't release anymore due to low air pressure. Since I can't wrap my mind around...
