    Deuces trapped in anchorage

They look like they could be the A3s that came out of GL in Anchorage awhile back. They were all great looking trucks that went for big $$$. As I recall they were all past $10,000.

    weasel in the deep

I've done vehicle recoveries, etc. Lift bags are the way to go. 32m (104ft) isn't too bad. It pushes sport diving limits but can be done safely with no specialized gear, lifting gear excluded. I used to dive with a crew and work for a company that can do this. We've got u/w navigation, SAR...

    ~~What Not to do with a Deuce~~

Those looked like Soldiers trashing Uncle's Deuce for no reason what so ever. So who is the lucky sucker that ended up buying that particular truck from GL?

    Scary 60's

More close up, current photos of this cutting edge soviet technology here: Ekranoplan | English Russia and here: http://englishrussia.com/2010/09/05/ekranoplan-the-inside-view/ Ran when parked? Lots of good photos of soviet era military equipment in various states of decay if you jump up to...

    Radio antennia location

Rusty, What the story on that 1523E? Not many of those around. Is the KY-57 just a shell with jumpers installed to pass traffic through?

    Water buffalo in freezing temps

We had diesel fired heaters attached to all of our water buffalos in Alaska. It wasnt the immersion heater referenced in the TM, it sat on the trailer forward of the tank and was permantly fixed. I owned several of uncles, but I never personally used one. I believe it was plumbed into the...

    OIF/OEF pics

OPSEC fellas. Posting images of destroyed coalition equipment, discussing the action and the result can help the enemy. Might seem silly considering the amount of these types of photos out there, but I know I wouldn't want my photos to contribute to enemy success. Just something to think about.

    BOUGHT 5T today on GL

Looks nice. I'm no pro by any means, but 9k is around what I might expect to pay from a private buyer for a very nice truck already titled and tagged. I'd say thats pretty high if you intended it for resale. With the prices I've seen on these lately from GL I'm surprised it was that high. If...

Scuba trailer? I'd like to see where you're going with this. Sounds interesting. You a commercial diver, sport instructor or is this just for fun?

    Mystery Deuce ?

That's still a pretty early deuce if those axles are original. Cool it stayed in the system as long as it did. Wonder what it's been doing for 58 years in the service.

    What grease do you use?

Finally found it... here is where I bought a case. I went for item #22, 20 tubes of GAA. Not sure how the price compares, but shipping was fast and more importantly, he had it in stock when I wanted some. GAA

    What grease do you use?

I bought a case of tubes from one of the dealers. They work great in my Lincoln grease gun. TNJ, or eastern maybe. I'll see if I can find it again.

the new m923 is finally here!

A "kid" is probably the first person people expect to jump out of the cab... Only a kid in uniform. The majority of your truck's drivers when in service were probably kids 19-25 or so.

    CHOCK those tires!!

I bought two of the large hollow blocks from Harbor freight thinking they were like the military chocks I'm used to. Nope. The 5 ton rolled right over them like they weren't there on a very mild incline over semi-frozen ground (parking brake is somewhat NMC). One of the chocks even cracked as it...

    Saw this today

Wonder how far they drove it after that tire gave out? They just left it on the side of the road with a note? That's one method I guess.

Jacksonville Fl GL Deuces - Has the world gone mad?

Some of the prices looked pretty good. Even the high ones looked comparable to auctions I've seen lately.

    Cucv ii

Wow. That's going to be a long haul, should be fun though. Get ready to pay some big $$ for fuel if you're going through Canada. Get 'er done before winter too. Winter is not far off in AK.
