Physically rotate the fuel shutoff lever forward and zip tie it. Give the fuel hand pump a few pushes for good measure. If it doesn't start still it's a fuel delivery issue.
What to look for when inspecting:
Wet spots anywhere (should be a given)
Inspect the engine block in front of the compressor for common fatigue cracks
Check for the "oil line of death" as it's been referred to, if its been replaced that's a very good post-military maintenance sign
Check the...
I'd weld it, replace the main gasket, and service the transmission filters while the manifold assembly is off. I dropped a manifold exactly like yours and it was a PITA. Go ahead and ohm out your solenoids too just to be safe (4.5 ohms is near perfect). You'll have to be extra careful not to...
2009 was my first MV purchase and it was all down hill from there. SS members are welcome to visit.
The PMD harness extension is already on order. I've not found enough research to decide on which PMD to buy yeteven as a back up. I know it will happen eventually if it's not already on...
Take the transmission body harness off the transmission pigtail by twisting/unthreading it. There is a large flat washer on the front side of the transmission pigtail that you break free and can feed it back through the transmission housing.
I'll check the alternators and leads, I'm sure they're due to be brushed for corrosion control. As for the blower it's missing completely. There's a single purple wire hanging down near the empty housing that may be the hot for it. I'm still triaging main components.
Today I rolled out the MKT...
Update 1. Batteries are "good" enough to not be considered replaceable by warranty. They've got 630 CCA out of the advertised 800 but it's 73F here so it should have been cranking near 1000 CCA. They have 8 months left of warranty and I bet the Texas summer heat will cook them. They gave the...
My 1999 CUCVII arrived and I've been doing triage on her. The previous owner lost the ignition key so I hired a locksmith to crack it. He spent an hour before asking permission to drill the tumbler as the OEM code on the door wasn't working for the ignition. After extracting it he said the...
I treated myself for once and installed new MRAP seats in my M1078A1R. These are the ones in the classifieds and fit well. I removed the spacer C channel which dropped the height about 2.5". Tapped 4 holes and mounted the driver seat. The passenger was a little more of a challenge as I had to...
I managed to do some google-fu and crossed it over to a sub nsn that fits. I thought of fabing it but for liability and invoicing sake I found and bought one.
A customer of mine tasked me with installing a winch on his M923A2 and was provided a cobbled together kit from Army6x6. It was half pulled from an M932A0 and half any ones guess of an A1 truck, which I feared would happen, so we had lots of components missing or miss matched. After time and...
Operation Cattle Run was a success this past week thanks to M715Mike, Reallybigboat, and 3 other local MV owners who opted in for the convoy. It was both a teaching experience and mini-rally for everyone to meet new faces.
I acquired 5 LMTVs (4 were runners after some basic PMCS) from auction...
I watched it and let it roll. It makes me feel a lot better about my CUCVII purchase. On that note the M1009 in Springtown brought $7050 today so the market was thirsty.
Used for talking to computerized equipment with the right software - CAT ET, DANA software package, ALLISON, etc. I have it but that DPA III has been superseded by the 4+ and 5. Depending on the vehicle you're working on and how fussy the adapter is it can be a life saver. They're worth about...
