I work in a procurement process job & the company spends vast amounts of money on equipment. That said, paying that amount of money for the armored light would get me fired in a very short time frame. No, I do not work for the government in any way, shape or form. I would like to work @ a DLA...
The dash light seems like it would shine in your eyes too much, I am entertaining the idea of installing one more on the center rib of the roof top if the existing one is not enough light. It seems like lots of guys have these lighting fixtures here.
That is them exactly; thanks for posting those links. I tried the search function before posting, but "armored cab lights" brought back no results. Wonder why they painted some of them white? Mine are all NOS still in the wrapping plastic for storage. The original listing price from the...
Has anybody here tried installing the armored cab light that has been floating around for sale lately? I picked up a box lot of them & there is no female connection to adapt to the plug that comes on the unit. Also, it has a SPST relay wired into it for whatever the original purpose required...
I have a friend who has a new to him Deuce which just sits in the yard with a brake problem similar to the OP's one. The pedal goes to the floor & that is all she wrote; maybe he will see this thread & try to get his truck back into running condition. Thanks for all the info & entertainment...
The transport service seems like the way to go with series of problems you have found out so far. Working on the side of the highway, with traffic screaming by @ 60+mph sounds like a death wish. Working on it in the peace & safety of your driveway or back yard, is more than likely going to keep...
My Deuce from WRAFB came with all the records from the AM General assembly plant, to Patrick AFB here in Florida & when it was transfered to WRAFB in Georgia 3 years later. All the maintenance work was recorded in the triplicate paperwork that came in a folder in the glovebox. It even included...
After installing new mirrors, my field of view has improved...except for being able to see any trailer that I might want to pull. M1102's are the worst along with a M105A2.
I use Kendall Super D III with the titanium stuff they put in it now in 15w40 with no problems in the Deuce I have; also in the Diesel gensets. Its just a choice I made @ the time last year.
The LMTV would be a better choice as you can title it & drive it on the roads, the HMMWV is not designed for heavy loads & the current ones have no possiblity of a legal title or using on the road. Good luck with your search.
You can tow it with regular truck if you get a pintel hitch & a set of magnetic brake lights/turn signals. They track well & have surge brakes to aid with stopping.
I'll have to go check mine, but they are all Silver Eagle & have LED marker lights & incandescent for the tail & brake lights also. Your front wheel on the jack looks like it got dropped or dragged over something or am I looking @ it wrong?
I can't believe you put it in the shower. That is what car washes are for & no messy shower floor when you are finished. I redid a jet mill a few years ago & it was piles of fun also, just no shower action.
I agree with donnerwetter58, women in the shower are a better choice & they don't leave...
Rayzer,
Thanks for the reminder. I'll be there with Betsy & a cargo of some items for the Deuces & just plain cool military wares, maybe like the diesel stoves for tents, tent repair kits, rifle holders for the trucks, armored cab lights, etc.. Already have reserved two vendor spots in advance...
She looks good in that white stuff, really stands out. Here in Florida, that snow in the cab is just rain blowing in the open spots. Welcome aboard & enjoy your new truck. Warmer weather is on the way....in a few months in your case.
