Oil tank for the Hyd pump. A lot of the winch trucks were rebuilt to wo/winch and for whatever reason left the tank mounted. Since it says 924 I'm guessing you don't have a winch. Next weird thing a 924 should not be a drop side, but from the picture it looks like it is??

There should be an extra plate on the dash to the upper right of the shift tower with the mileage at time of rebuild since it came from RSMS. 000860 is just a # maybe for lotting, got the gl link? Up date don't see the RSMS plate unless it is behind the wire tied bag of info on the crab bar.
