That truck has been relisted a few times, first time was Feb this year which is when the photos were taken. Plan to haul it home, not flat tow, all the 109s up there have been sitting near 20 years so expect a lot of PMCS before operating on the road. Do plan to bypass the FDC, replace fuel...
Air compressor for sure. It shouldn't be lagging the engine down enough to stall it, check your fuel filters and feel the temp of the compressor. If the compressor is going it may be hot to the touch.
Highly not surprised about any of this from North Hood. Those trucks have sat a looooooong time. This is the same yard I flat towed a M923 (dropped the axles as the T-case wouldn't budge), truck had NO fluids at all (listed as no oil), and both front bearing locked up on the way home. If I can...
Yup, bearing is fubar if the lip of the drum isn't shaved off too. I've only done this twice on the same truck possessed by Murphy himself. May as well redo all the seals while you're in there.
Does anyone have any experience working on the MAXXPRO model MRAP? I know the TM's are well out of our reach but I've been called to support some local counties with these units in service. I'm looking for any people with knowledge, parts sourcing, etc.. I wish I could say I owned one but I'm...
I don't remember the thickness off hand but anything from tractor supply or most anything name brand from Amazon will work for the M101A2. I've not tried the Harbor Freight personally.. Source: Sold 50 M101 trailers over the years. Feel free to pm me the link to what you bought and I'll check...
I moved my entire motor pool this past week, I put the M915A1 and M936A2 to work like they should be. Not THAT many photos but here's what the M915A1 pulled. I love this truck, it will smoke anything on the road MV wise.
Use a 10mm wrench and open the bleeder on the back side of the injection pump and pump that button until a constant stream of fluid comes out. I recommend putting in a schrader valve on the fuel cap and pressurizing the fuel system gently to find leaks (if any) also you can avoid pumping...
If I was closer I'd be game but it sounds like you have bad fuel lines. Very easy to do. Just put a schrader valve on the fuel cap, pressurize, and you'll find the problem. No Soldier B required.
I've noticed this too, a deuce may do the job if the trailer is unloaded but a 5 ton is what should be pulling it. I've also had a lot of ticklishness with the brakes on all 3 of my 1082s so I just caged them all and even then they need a little bump to get moving.
You can cage the brakes like any commercial truck or trailer, you will need 4 nuts and bolts to do the 4 chambers (2 per wheel) which look slightly different from this commercial one but the steps are the same.
