Removing these appears to have helped after taking a short ride today:
about 3/4 of what came out of the 10 tires, started saving them to show you guys once I realized how much there was
I don't feel any play in the wheel but I will inspect the tie rod ends.
Tires are not cupping. Truck was through Depot 3-11. Would they have replaced the shocks out of normal routine, what kind of inspection can be done on the shocks?
Thanks!
Driveshafts/u joints look fine, I went through and greased the truck and inspected them as I greased them.
They front tires do have some rocks stuck in them so I plan knockin them out and spinning the front wheels. Size of them are up to or around an inch so maybe that's all it is. I'd laugh...
hey,
I've noticed that the truck gets into a bad oscillation around 30-40 mph and the whole front of the cab feels like it is being tossed around. Feels like an out of balance tire but I don't feel anything in the wheel like you would in a car.
I am familiar with hopping from the rear axles...
Greased all the fittings
Mounted my battery charger in the battery box
swapped the cargo cover for a newer one (other one is for sale)
added a fire extinguisher to put in the mount the truck came with
Mounted the front license plate (thanks NJ)
I will probably be camping out in the back of my M923, anyone else staying over the night?
I'll be bringing a decent M939 cargo cover to sell. Tie ropes are in good condition and flexible, cover is in good shape (minor pin holes, rear flap is missing zipper but temp sewn shut to keep it from...
First week of ownership of my new 5 Ton:
Mounter rear license plate bracket and light
fixed leaking valve on front left glad hand
fixed leaking coolant pipes
found loose bolts around coolant/oil interchanger and stopped a leak there
replaced broken fuel primer pump
replaced fuel filter and...
I wound going with this unit for my vehicle:
http://www.pulsetech.net/Xtreme-Charge-4Station-QuadLink-Battery-Charger-Kit-7393.aspx
I will get it tomorrow so more news to come. I liked it because it said you could leave all 4 batteries installed in any series/parallel configuration and connect...
Well I tried warming it up and it still wouldn't give. I got it to rotate clockwise about 15 degrees and then wound up with the handle in my hand.... Either it was seized and or the paint that they sprayed down over the whole engine bay got up in there...
New one on the...
Quick note,
Is the PN for the WIX filter here correct? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoJuiPMjMpsVdC1OLTN2WGtXNzVNcUsxVnotLXZYUlE#gid=0
Shouldn't it be 33401 instead of 44301? I saw someone in a later post corrected this.
I have one on order from amazon now so as soon as this...
Loosening the bolt is what I planned on doing but not until I know I can prime the system.
It is on the plan on things to do but it went from #1 to #2 job thanks to the primer pump being bumped to #1 LOL
It is 38 degrees out right now. I got some wd40 on the primer, it does not say twist to lock. I just figured it was due to there being an opening for something to slide through on the nut it goes through. I'm going to let it think about how bad its been for the next couple hours and see if it...
Hey,
M923
I was following page 3-27 of the operators guide to draining the water out of the fuel filter and ran into a few issues.
1) There is no top inlet valve, just a 90 degree turn towards the rear of the vehicle
I was thinking of cracking the filter open to let it drain. Before doing...
