access panels, what is under them....

The hinged one is the M/C cover. I think the one on the doghouse is for a PTO for a dump or something. Let me look at the -10. BTW, got your package. Gotta box yours up.

    Look what Santa brought me!!

More. The driver said it was gong to Albany Ga. for overhaul. A 2004 model with 49 hrs on it! Very corroded. 2 million for this beast. The dash has no gauges. It has bar type read outs, kinda like a Sheridan. I REALLY woulda liked to give it a test putt [thumbzup]

    Look what Santa brought me!!

Nah, I WISH! The carrier had an EGR cooler failure and he had no place to put the trailer. I got to poke around in it and fire it off. Powered by a beautiful, dual aftercooled 903. ESN in the Cummins DB says it left the factory as a 750 HP model

    Newbie Seeking Help - Leaks

ALL leaks end up at the oil pan. Start looking high first. The clean spot will be the source of an oil or fuel leak. Coolant leaks happen alot on cold engines. Go out early AM and raise the hood and have a look see. The 1 3/4 huses from the heads to the aftrecooler have a tendancy to leak...

    M66 ring mount TM

I never found a TM for the ring but I was able to dig thruogh some old TMs in the Museum library and came up with an image on how an M49 mounts. I scanned it but can't find it  Here is a pic of it after I installed the ring on my junk. It is an M49 ring and cast legs, but you will need the...

how hot does your deuce get

I did that when I first got my junk. Also did an O/P comparison. The temp gauge was pretty much right on and the oil pressure gauge reads low at idle by 5 or so pounds when hot. Cold it is also close. patracy, PM sent.

how hot does your deuce get

These run on the cool side. The hottest mine has been is around 190 or so in June pulling Tehachapi grade. Looking for a winter front? I have one with the springs and mounts. PM me if interested.

CUCV Alternator Isolated Ground Therory of Operation

Sometimes we take things for granted. We assume everyone can wrap their head around the concept of the isolated ground circuit and the associated battery wiring. Warthog had asked a fellow member Amphi for his input of the isolated ground circuit and he conducted an experiment. Here is his...

    Starting a multi

Seen this once before on an 855 Cummins in a Crown fire truck. The blasted thing wouldn't hit a lick even with a new pump. Absolutly zero smoke to clue you in as to what the issue might be. Tried an experiment and plugged in the block heater, let it sit over night and it lit right off. Let it...

    anal-retentive oil-change question

I like that. Actually, it works very well. We do that on the 15L engines when we do a head gasket or anything that requires the head coming off. Truthfully, I wouldn't worry about it. Even if you get it out of that cavity, it is still in all the oil gallies. Slam some new filters on it and run it.

    Burma Half Track

I believe that is located at Kramer Junction Ca. Where the 395 and 58 come together. There's a garage there that has all kinds of cool stuff in it, kinda like a museum, but not, and a small lot with verious MVs in it. IIRC there is a WC series, a weasel or 114 a jeep or two. I have pics on the...

    395 retreads?

Well, they work for OTR trucks, don't see why they wouldn't work on a deuce. Don't know how they'd hold up to off roading though.
