Why are CUCV prices so much higher that Civi Chevs

One must be careful not to compare asking prices to selling prices.

    Contact Maintenance Trailer

The mounting point crossmembers on the box go side to side. Then there is that long frame rail outside the box from front to rear. I'll need to modify mine as I'm doing some tire juggling on the truck it's on. I did see that the box needs a home. Pics would be cool. I just inherited this...

Why are CUCV prices so much higher that Civi Chevs

Civilian 1 tons didn't get the 208 transfer case. When the CUCV came out I found this very weird but the little 208 has proven itself. I've owned an 86 K30, 87 V30 and an 88 V30. All 3 had the 400 turbo and 205 case. I have great respect for the 208 now. 2.61 low range can really be a blessing.

    Contact Maintenance Trailer

I never made it to all 8 mounting points. I was able to drill through the front and rear crossmembers of the chassis and body and secure it that way. As mentioned, I did shim the back of the body up 2". After selling it, I towed it to GA with only the 4 bolts. The 4 inner mounts are going to...

GA to OK in BFR's/Papabear's/Patracy's Deuce.

The short wheel base tank is longer and somewhat skinnier. Google images for M275A2 and you can see one for yourself. Its on the left side of the truck. Not sure if it would be that easy as the neck would need relocated as well. Might be easier to find a new old stock tank and weld a dimple...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The TM says it's limited to the M416. With that said, I can think of dozens of M1009 owners toting M101 and M116 trailers. There will be a few folks along shortly that will tell you that if you tow an M101 with your M1009 that it will flip over, the tires will burst into flames and that the...
