    FNG from Sparta WI

Welcome to the site! Good to see more people from Wis. on here. There's several threads about the dmv's ban on mv's. You might want to hold off on selling for a while and see what happens. Ron

My multi fuel 87 m35 make weird popping noise at idle directly frm exhaust?!!!

It started out at idle or just over but mine sounded more like a really bad generator bearing. It went away as the rpm's went up. I'm thinking as the oil pressure raised, the oil tended to keep the turbine shaft centered until the final, catastrophic failure. Hopefully, yours is a simple exhaust...

GAS M45 Saved From The Scrapper

Good save! Gotta love the old gassers. Hope you keep it as original as possible.

My multi fuel 87 m35 make weird popping noise at idle directly frm exhaust?!!!

My 5 ton had a similar noise a few years back. Turned out to be the turbo. The blades on the exhaust side were just starting to scrape the housing. Figured that out after the oil seal on that side let go. Luckily the seal on the intake side held so it didn't run wild.

    Brush guard

Too bad this wasn't brought up a few months ago! There was a guy on craigslist in Wis. that had a NOS military brush guard for the m880 series trucks. I wonder if there was some sort of NSN or just the usual bs to get a sale.

Old gasser? Found in overgrowth, what ya think?

Like most, the toy funds are shot but I could definately use the winch if not the whole truck. Keep us posted on what develops, but try not to let it get scrapped!

    what are driveshafts worth?

I think the nice is over. Started raining yesterday, getting colder, possible rain/snow mix..... You'd almost think it was november! Oh, and by the way, this crap's headed your way, (Don't shoot the messenger!).

    what are driveshafts worth?

ODdave I'm thinking a 700 mile roundtrip, with gas at $3 a gallon, for some driveshafts that I really don't need is a bit far. 20 years ago, I'd have been all over it, but I just don't like driving like I used to. Hopefully you can find a buyer for them a bit closer. They should be worth a...

New Progress on Wisconsin Ex-Military Vehciles

Thanks for the explanation. I guess in the beginning of this whole deal, one of the DMV's arguments was the lack of the NHTSA inspection sticker on MV's. Since the Dodge series trucks had the sticker, I assumed they were exempt from the restrictions. I've had it registered and licensed with...

New Progress on Wisconsin Ex-Military Vehciles

Wow! I never realized my M882 with the federal safety sticker intact on the door frame was included in the whole DMV fiasco/witch hunt on MV's. So, now maybe I'll be legal even though I didn't know I was illegal before?:lost:

5-ton front fender longer than deuce?

IIRC, The 2 1/2, 5 and 10 ton cabs are intechangeable. The fenders start at the cab and go foreward. At first, I thought the 5 ton fenders looked wierd, but after 7 years of owning and working on them, I think they're pretty cool just the way they are!2cents

    M882 ecu

My M882 keeps eating ignition ecu's. First it starts to idle rough, then it seems to lose power and then after a day or so, it won't start. Check spark, nothing. Replace ecu and it starts and runs great for a few months. This has happened a couple times. Did I have a run of bad ecu's or am I...

New Wisconsin HMV law in effect Oct 1st.

Just want to add that I sent in the application on the 25th and recieved the plates and new title in the mail today! Seems a little fast for the DMV. Also, I got # 10018, 3 numbers less than Toddm and his was sent in almost a month earlier. Go figure. I want to thank Catman and all who worked...

    PoofStalk fall 2010

I was hoping to make it, but as long as the weather stays dry, we're gonna keep working 12 to 14 hour days. Have a couple beers for me and maybe I'll be there next time!

Saw an air braked M35a2 yesterday

I do maintain air brakes on off and on road applications, hydraulic brakes suck in ALL applications, PERIOD!!! But then, I've just been doing this for the last 35 years, what do I know.
