Even if you had to do a "smog check" on the truck it would still pass as it is. You are allowed 55% opacity for pre 1991 diesel powered trucks. No need to mix fuels. Register it historic. Don't go to DMV, use a registration service.

The PT pump is a positive displacement gear pump. Even if the filter is dry, it will pick up fuel. Just put your foot to the wood and crank it. Trust me! Filling the filter is old school, it has been done for years, but, when you do this you put unfiltered fuel into the pump. Old school days...
