Yeah, where's the fun in that? That's too simple and makes too much sense. I don't think my brain will allow me to do that. Seriously, though, that IS a good idea, gimp.
Thought I would post up some pics of the hitch on my Deuce, since that seems to be a popular mod. Although mine isn't a stock Deuce, that is no cargo bed and no bumperettes (sp?). Just thought it might give someone some ideas. Pay no attention to tweakness.
p.s. I didn't build this, it came on...
Alright, I sacrificed for the team and went to maxim's website to do some "research." It is an A2, albeit with an abnormally large heat shield around the stack. (I think, may have to look at it again.):p
According to TM 9-2520-246-34 the Deuce pto puts out 27 hp at 1000rpm. So, if the Deuce winch is rated for 10,000 and the 5 ton winch for 20,000, I would say double the horsepower, or 54 hp. That is just my guess, though. I could be completely wrong. (wouldn't be the first time)
I put my pump inside the frame rail under the cab, and it seems to work fine. Can't remember anything about it except that it was a Carter. I can take a pic tomorrow evening if you want/need one.
I still haven't decided on a paint scheme. On one hand I want it to look like a MV, but on the other, I don't want it to look like other deuces. Don't know if I can do the red camo thing, though.
Ding, ding, ding we have a winner. I had swapped out the transfer case back in the summer, but had just now gotten around to mounting the switch and running air lines.
