I was meaning the one on the front. I just knocked out the black lens and put in a clear one cut from cheap safety goggles. One light was rusty, so it is getting a remake and some primer on the bulb bracket. I like the plate light idea, am going to do that.
Thanks. Everything I've read says something about aspect ratio???
Reposted to decipher those numbers. I can wrap my S.A.E. mind around inch size tires, but these metric things boggle me.
So far I've come up with 315/75/16 & 235/85/16 & 255/85/16 as being the tall and thin choices. Which is the tallest and thinnest? Is there even taller and thinner that would fit? I also have access to 16.5 rims.
BTW: Just bought a stock M1008, keeping it mostly stock with 12v outlets, a stereo and front grill lights. Looking to buy 36"-37" Hmmwv tires and have it bed liner painted OD green inside, outside, under side and in-between side.
I can't get in the manuals, or I would have. Been spending hours putting this together.

how to secure the proportioning valve rod for bleeding the brakes.
My warning light is on most all the time. What I've done is removed the power steering pump and thus drained the system and refilled. Replaced the rear brake lines at the same time. Lines are bled, and reservoir filled, but the light is on. Need to know what to do.
Mileage will always better warmer than cooler. Winters here see 40 below fairly often and the diesel will hardly light. Have you run any 2 stroke oil with your diesel? Makes a big difference.
I did a search, but never found a good answer. I am likely getting an M1008 and am wondering what tire size will fit stock and give the best fuel mileage? I'm looking for a tall and narrow size for winter use, that will up the mileage.
In regards to solenoid issues, I use one on my tractor for logging. I had to add an inline filter before the winch to keep the solenoids clean. It obviously needs to be a high pressure filter. Also, MileMarker replaced a faulty set for me as well.
One way to brighten your lights and better power them is to use a relay for the high beams and another for the low beams. As issued all the wiring is routed to the light switch and all the fuses and other controls. Instead install two relays powered directly from the batteries or a fuse box...
