That's a shame to hear. I thought that was the payoff for LED's: expensive, but lasted much much longer than regular bulbs. Doesn't sound like They're worth it.
Whew! Changed out 4 dry cracked tires with new ones. And my Harbor Freight 3/4" impact is worth it's weight in gold! Made a tough job a lot easier. Even running it with 1/4" fittings and 3/8" hose it had plenty of power on the truck's air system. Had to wait for pressure to build back up a...
Still going though the spare parts that came with the truck. I refinished and installed this folding bumper step. Much easier to crawl up onto the bumper now.
You guys down south can have all the slimy critters and spiders and stuff. Yuck.
Of course we do have mountain lions and grizzly bears here that can actually eat you. Then again, less likely to find one making a nest in your truck.
Way better than a snake! There must have been lots of squirrels and mice at my truck's PO's place. I'm still finding nuts and nests. Dang things chewed up the heater damper gasket and made a nest of it in the elbow!
Extra Linkage on Transmission?
Still getting to know my truck a bit. I discovered that I have the transfer case PTO, so my truck didn't start off as a cargo truck.
I do have the air activated transfer.
Now I see extra linkage on the transmission. The little rod that sticks out the back at the...
It looks like the PTO system is complete, just doesn't run anything. There's a big castle nut on the end of a shaft, that I'm assuming turns when the PTO is engaged. Half afraid to mess with it. Looks like the rod and spring for the governor still go to the IP.
So my truck has the transfer case PTO, so I guess it wasn't built as a cargo truck.
I do have the air shift transfer case though.
Now I see there is linkage from the rod that sticks out at the back of the transmission and goes down and attaches back to the transmission. Nothing goes anywhere...
I wanted to bring this back up. I need to get an extinguisher for my Deuce. I didn't see anything mentioned about using one for a run away engine. I was considering a CO2 extinguisher thinking (in theory) it could be used to stop a run away without destroying the engine. Opinions?
After fighting with the wrong cargo cover last week for hours. I decided to put the one that fits on the truck today. It looks like a new old stock cover. The metal buckles were rusted and corroded almost like battery acid ate them. I cleaned them up and painted them. Got the top all lined...
Wow, that's a great looking truck!
I finished my seat belt install. installed a remote brake reservoir (put it on firewall right below heat hose), fixed low air pressure buzzer. Tested the Harbor Freight 3/4 impact: it took the lugs right off, no problem!
