    LT. Dan M35a2 Modification Thread

Don't make it harder than it has to be man. Remember that it is YOU doing the work. I myself hate when I get a grand idea and then figure out just how much work I didn't have to do when I'm well into a task.

    Aluminum fuel tank

Ok, so now I've verified via PM that the pump is a drop in fit, but I also need the A3 tank straps. So a tank and straps and I'm good to go for a permanent rust free tank.

    Aluminum fuel tank

Ok then, that is what I'm looking for. It looked like the plate on top of the aluminum tank was the same as the fuel pump bracket that goes in the A2 tank, so I'm thinking it may just drop in. If it needs some modification that's no problem, it would still be less work than starting from a 5 ton...

    Aluminum fuel tank

I was considering installing an aluminum tank that I have here from a five ton by just cutting a hole for the deuce pump and drilling and tapping screw holes, but the filler neck on the tank I have is in the wrong spot. I noticed an aluminum tank on the M35a3 that showed up at the Ponchatoula...

is a bobbed deuce a practical daily driver?

I've been daily driving mine for quite a while now voluntarily. I can count the number of times I have taken my fiancées car instead of the deuce on one hand, and the only reason for that was to get somewhere in a hurry.

is a bobbed deuce a practical daily driver?

I have around 53000 on mine now from what the odometer says. I've never seen an A2 or A3 with more miles than mine has, so I can't make a definitive statement there. The multifuel should last at least a couple hundred thousand miles though with proper maintenance, good lubricants, and sensible...

is a bobbed deuce a practical daily driver?

Only if you tow it four miles and drive the other 11. You will get about the same mileage as the ford.

    Another M923A2 Transmission Question...

Being over full won't hurt it until you get to being in the neighborhood of being a gallon or so overfull. The only thing it may do is push some extra fluid out of the vent if you really get the transmission temp hot pulling a Lon grade or something. It will not hurt anything at all to be a...

is a bobbed deuce a practical daily driver?

If you can afford the fuel and the maintenance... Sure. My deuce is my DD, and it isn't bobbed.
