    6Tl Battery advice please

If I had 4 batteries in my newest truck, I'd do the Walmart shuffle, too! Steve

    New guy from Norway

Belated welcome from New Jersey. And . . . many compliments on your truck. That was a real transformation. Steve

    SEORTM / truck mounted

Every Google image sez, "5-ton." Old or new. Steve

    Won my first trailer. M105A2

A weight-distributing hitch only goes so far on even-ing the game with a 105. It takes no time to put enough stuff in a 105 to have 2 tons pushing your truck. Braking, handling, having the trailer decide to take a path of its own all play into it. Stay under 1K payload and you'll probably be...

    Won my first trailer. M105A2

Taking the mechanical condition of the truck at face value (which you shouldn't do as a buyer), I must say that the M35's write up suggests that between equipment and extras, the price isn't out of line - at least it wouldn't be around here. Look at the prices of Air-O-Matics in the parts...

    Bump Cap

It looks like a lot better idea than the batter's helmet I use - and batting is for summer. Vents are good and the foam inserts probably allow for circulation. Coulda' used it yesterday working under my trailer. Darned landing leg . . . Steve

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I agree with him. Congratulations! Steve

    My new Deuce!

Very, very nice. Have you started planning parking spaces for the rest of the motor pool? Steve

    paint job

Which paint mfr are you using (realize Europe is different.) Is there any chance you changed reducer type, brand, or amount? That can do it. Steve

    paint job

I agree with Heath. Wait. Color variations between lots used to be fairly common. The the workaround is to use the dissimilar colors ending in corners, at shadow lines, and the like. It's very effective in hiding it because light angle accounts for the bulk of the color perception. If you do...

    M37 cab size

Great! I hope that the one you choose will be more suited to custom work than to restoration. The good restoration base trucks get fewer each year. Keep us updated on what you decide. Steve

    M37 cab size

OK. I used the above posts and figured out what's up. My suggestion is to see if there's anyone closer who'd let you spend a bit of time climbing in and out and maybe going for a drive. There are plenty in New England on SS and I'm sure one is within a reasonable ride. If it still seems...

    M37 cab size

Try it on for size then think some more. You might decide the fun truckin' outweighs the snug fit. Steve

    M37 cab size

If you find one with the original seats, be sure to take a shoe horn and some Vaseline. The good news is you'll fit. JMO. Steve

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That picture of grease coming out of the boot and onto the tire is real familiar. Could also be a punctured boot. Try putting on a rubber glove and go around the creases very carefully with an index finger. Don't be surprised to find a hole or two. Steve

    Justification Help

Lust4GreenSteel: "...So, for now, I am changing my focus from finding just the right truck to finding a younger partner who has the omph and the skills I lack but may not have the dollars to indulge in this hobby. I can afford truck(s) and parts if I can find someone in my area who will...

    Justification Help

Here's a couple of thoughts: First, look up John Tennis (http://jatonkam35s.com/), maybe Doghead, make friends and talk (or mebbe it'll be best to just listen with open ears.) If it's a bit of a ride, it'll be worth it. Then buy a good Deuce, equipped as you want or do the add-ons, in the...

    Justification Help

"...how often do you drive that thing?..." Mine's not bobbed, but my motto is, "ANY excuse to drive the Deuce." "...Also none of my trucks have ever had AC, so it wont be missed..." You might reconsider that when you're moving about 8 mph in traffic in 92+ degree/83+% humidity weather as the...

    Grandpa's M37

As I recall, you weren't trying to keep the truck 100% stock. There are a couple of threads on G741 and I recall at least several modern gas tanks that will fit with only a little fiddling with the fuel connections. Since it's out of sight, this could be a very good $125 or so alternative...
