Yeah, it's pretty amazing after moving out west how my definition of, "not that far" has changed. Especially up here in this corner of WY. Of course there are some nice things about it, like being 10 minutes from Grand Teton National Park and 45 from Yellowstone.
In the end it's just a...
Nope, it's a done deal, sadly. Pinz's are great. Just pricey little boogers when you consider you can get a nice Duece for 1/3 the price.
It's hard to beat their abilities, especially in 6x6. Great size too. Will fit on any trail a Jeep will go.
I feel like the little kid at the end of...
Made a really tough decision and sold my Pinz. The shipper will be here in a few hours to get her, and I'm just plain sick to my stomach.:-(
Never really had an "emotional" attachment to a vehicle before.
I've been obsessing over Dueces for a while and trying to learn all I can about them...
Saw that. The ones in Utah went way high too. There's NEVER anything within 500 miles of here. When I saw A3's at Clearfield, UT it peaked my interest. They quickly went out of my price range. I saw the one that ran (complete with combat starter:roll:) had the headlights taken out of it. I...
I can imagine. My Jeep was floored and doing about 45-50MPH over Wolf Creek. Going over Teton Pass here (9% Grade, 8500') my Pinz would go about 25MPH Max. Wondering what a Deuce would do?
I figured there had to be a trade off. I've never owned a diesel, so I'm still learning the principals. Now on my gas/air cooled Pinz I just rejetted the carbs for higher altitude and it runs just fine up here. I'm sure it has less power than at sea level, but I've never driven it anywhere...
I've seen pics of the label on the A3's engine that says, "8500 feet max". What happens over that altitude? What if they are run regularly below, but close to that?
Does the A2 multi-fuel have altitude restrictions? Is there an adjustment?
A truck description listed on a auction site states: "Combat starter. Did not start."
Does this mean they fought the starter and it wouldn't comply? Or is it a special starter that only works under combat conditions?;-)
