What's the chief complaint: Does the pump run but no fuel? Or doesn't run at all?
I've found two problems; pump doesn't run = no power to the motor itself-- look for a broken wire from the head to the motor. Power to the motor usually means new motor as the they seem to be sealed.
If the pump...
Up to 220 under a heavy load is to be expected if the cooling system needs a flush. As long as you didn't hold it there for 10 or 15 minutes you should be OK.
When the vehicle is up to operating temp you shouldn't open the radiator cap because the pressurized water isn't boiling even though the...
Other than light modifications, I've found that stock is better. You can give it less restriction in the intake air or exhaust department but turning up the fuel often has a cascade effect. Now you need bigger injectors, turbo and IP work-- get far enough out there and you're doing gear train...
Took a drive down to Tower Park today and these are a few of the vehicles I saw while there.
The event runs from the 13th to the 20th but doesn't get started good until today or tomorrow.
Tower Park has a KOA campground there and the military vehicles and the display and vendor's tables pretty...
RE: title
Here we have 'salvage' titles (there's a box on the face of our Certificates of Title that's usually empty; resurrected vehicles have the word 'salvage' printed into this box). That just means that the vehicle has been processed through a wrecking yard or salvage company at some point...
RE: title
California DMV folks are happiest when you bury them in an avalanche of forms. Gotta have front and rear plates and they have to be current. The only way I know of using my bumper numbers is if I got a set of personalized plates with that number/letter combination on them. I was told...
Bjorn,
I picked up some from Austin and got enough to make several servicable ones from the bunch. I like 'em because of the white/blue light choices. Here's how I mounted them in the baby HEMTT. Set far enough forward to provide overhead lighting without casting a shadow from your head or...
I think Daniels is splitting hairs. All crimp at 4 points (locations)-- 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00. The Daniels tool has four "jaws" and each jaw has two small points instead of one larger one. Does that qualify it as an 'eight point crimp'?
The whole purpose of that style of crimp is so that it...
Looks like the Ideal/ Buchanan tool will work just fine. If you're doing mil. spec. wiring and are using the waterproof connectors, the secret is the four-point, non-deforming crimp that the Daniels, Ideal/Buchanan and the silver tool from the wiring kits all do.
With any of them, just make sure...
RE: Re: RE: Ultra capacitors for cranking
I give'm a year. By then the Japanese will have bought a set, copied them and the price will be more affordable. Some may even have hit the surplus market by then.
The one-charge, one-try technology is the only thing that leaves me cold. No more...
RE: Re: RE: MP writings
IGI, in answer to your original question.
Markings for Military Police vehicles are covered in TB 43-0209 (page 30) under the Resources tab, in the Technical Manuals section.
Hope this is the information you're looking for.
I wouldn't run it straight; but added to diesel fuel already in the tank, it should do OK. It's basically lamp oil (paraffin oil, apiphatic solvent) with a citronella additive.
A kinked or delaminated line close to the tank is a good possible but here's another thing to check out. There are vented AND non-vented fuel caps that are close to identical in appearance and both will fit on the deuce tank. Make sure you have a vented cap as two minutes is about as long as it...
RE: transfering publications to CD
Most walk-in print shops like FedExKinkos can scan hard copies to a .pdf file. From there it's just like sending a picture or video.
Proper markings are covered in the Camo manuals in the Tech Library, but you might want to check with your local law enforcement guys before putting Military Police markings on your vehicle. Some have done that and come to grief because civilian police officers have taken it as impersonating a...
Is the harness good but the plug is damaged? Usually the entire cable is swapped out but if necessary, the pins/sockets with their wires can be pushed out of the cannon plug and pushed into a replacement. I'll see if I can find and send you the ITT/Cannon .pdf file on how to do this.
RE: Re: RE: Sandblast Cabinet Question
We've got a commercial unit with glass shot and still have varying results.
Cool, DRY air with sufficient pressure by all means. Cleaning the debris seperator screen frequently is a must. Frequent media changes when blasting helps as the media shatters on...
