    M135 help! need info

These are good ol' trucks but it sounds like you might have a parts truck on your hands! Water in the transmision is not a good thing, although these trannys were water cooled. The bar that goes from side to side is supposed to be straight [if I remember correctly], and the master cylinder is...

    M135/211 steering column support

Awhile back, someone asked about the rubber steering column support on the m135/2111 series trucks. Just saw one on ebay, item no. 7985710023. Listing says they're NOS and 4 available. Hope this helps someone.

    1952 M35?

I have one of those in really good shape. It's a '57 Utica Bend. I haven't driven it much, maybe 25 miles, but from what I've seen, it's definately slow and underpowered. Still, it's easy to work on and fun to drive. Six cylinder gas engines have a sound all their own, and this one's no...

    Which motor to swap in...

I'm no Detroit fan, but one thing in its favor in this application would be the 13 speed. You can't lug a detroit as you'd need to do with the 5 speed, so I guess it comes down to personal preference. Just my two cents worth.

LOOKING FOR WW II 2 1/2 Ton OWNERS!

Hey! If you two are gonna fight, you're gettin' grounded! BTW Dr Deuce, what was te cubic inch of the stock chevy engines? The jimmie was 270 but I thought the chevy was 235.

URGENT I need help with hard starting m1008

The glow plug timer cycles every time you start it, not just when it's below 85 F. My kid and I each have 6.2 diesels and they need the glowplugs to start, period. Richard hit it when he said they are a low compression [for a diesel] engine and need warm fuel to fire. If you've recently run the...

LOOKING FOR WW II 2 1/2 Ton OWNERS!

Steve, Just wanted to add my welcome! I've talked to you before on the WWII Chevy and GMC forum. While most of the posts are about the M35, there's an unbelievable amount of information here. You'll find a lot of people here who actually use their trucks and maybe even modify them a little.

    loud, DEEP tone air horn?

DS. I'll just bet they do! Now I gotta work on my 5 ton's inoperative horns. I think my neighbors need something to appreciate, too.

    gooseneck?

With the bed as high as it is and sides to deal with, you're better off going with a pintle hitch type trailer. [IMHO]

Where can you get U.S.A. White star or template for the Deuce

If you want clean, good looking stars and markings, Rick Larsen, the site that Fred Rader listed is the way to go. There may be others cheaper, but Rick answered my questions when I painted my 5 ton, and I think the end result is pretty good looking.

13 speed in a five ton

If I'm not mistaken, there's a couple different 13 speed trannys. I used to drive a grain truck with a 13 speed and it was direct in high gear. On the low side, you could shift through three gears before you noticed you were moving. It was a real fast shifting unit as long as you didn't use the...

    Blast Media Cost

Dieselsmoke, Huh? Somebody say somthin? Good thing I don't have to hear a computer. There's no arguing the part about sand blaster scream destroying your hearing, permanently! Now that I'm older but not a whole lot smarter, I use the foam roll up ear plugs. Seem to block out most of the...

    Blast Media Cost

I saw your post this morning before work and been kinda thinking about it all day. You're where I was 25 years ago. My first thought would be try harder to find someone else to do it for you. But then I remember that I really like sandblasting [not too bright]. Keep in mind this is only my two...

WUt Da Deuce is wrong with my Deuce ana haf

Tony' Somwhere along the line, I heard as JasonS said, to use the 5 speed from a cckw. It should bolt up to the bellhousing on the 302. To get low range, use the cckw transfer case. I know it's a lot of modifying, and you end up with an extra shift lever for the front wheel drive, but I...
