WUt Da Deuce is wrong with my Deuce ana haf

The hydramatics used in the m135/ m211 series trucks seems to have been a weak point. I've heard some people swear by them and a lot more swear at them. I don't know much about them other than stick with whatever oil is in it. Either motor oil or tranny fluid, but don't mix or drain and switch...

    fuel tanks

Just checked the tanks on two of my trucks. I thought maybe the mounting brackets would interchange but the 5 ton tank is approx. 1.5" taller and 4" deeper [frame rail to outside face] than the deuce.

    M-135 Air tank fitting

Hey Tony, I'm sure I've got one on a parts truck out back, so if you come up empty, let me know and I'll check it out for you [if you don't mind a used one]. The back yard is a mud hole right now, but a few sunny days should take care of that.

    M215 it is ALIVE

M215, Welcome aboard! Looks like you're on the downhill side of a very big project. Very impressive work, hope to see more pictures when it's done. That's one lucky truck.

    2.5 vs 5 ton

5 tonners are awesome trucks, but for the average guy without a CDL, a deuce seems to be a more practical choice. Easier to get around, less damage to driveways, etc. Course, it's kinda cool to have one or more of each!

    paint for markings

I got gilespie paint from Second Armor Productions and asked them the same question. Was told that the best they knew of was Painters Choice [if I remember correctly] sold by Home Depot / Lowes building centers. It's their cheap grade of rattle cans. I used semi gloss white with Rick Larson...

    Soft top questions

Robert, just for reference, I paid $250 for a new one for my 5 ton last summer and that seems to be roughly the going price. Btw, I don't have a clue how to post pictures here, but if you want to post any of the ones I sent you, feel free.

    paint job cost

Way too many variables there. Are you doing the prep work? Disassemble, straighten, repair, scrape, sand, tape, untape and reassemble? If you're just talking about pulling the trigger on the gun [you supply the paint], maybe $600 to$1000. That'd be for one coat of primer and two coats of paint...

Check out these deals found - Anyone a 'Wisconsin Entity'?

About 20 years ago, I knew most of the guys that worked at Wisconsin Federal Properties. A great bunch to work with, but they wouldn't let anything out to the general public. They had an M123 10 ton [needed trans. and t case]. I thought maybe they'd bend the rules a little but not a chance. The...
