Purely speculation on my part but what about some kind of frame block for shipping a piece of equipment with articulated steering so that the thing stays rigid and pointing straight ahead while in transport; or to block a crane boom in place? Yellow and red paint is often for a reminder that the...
They should fit in the housings just fine. With the flatter lenses they'll have a more "European-look" than U.S. headlights. You're right about having to change to whatever waterproof connector you currently have on your truck.
Before I invested in an FS-595 "Color Fan Deck" I kept seeing different shades when viewing the same color. Turns out the problem is color rendition from computer monitor to computer monitor. And; the more sites a link takes you through, the larger the margin for error. Best way is to take the...
Mike,
Here's what I machined out of a block of PVC. They clamp at the bottom of the OPTIMAS so there's no problem with over-the-battery framework to short to, or get in the way of cables or clamps. The bottom of the battery box is covered with a piece of plywood with thread inserts to accept the...
The antenna set-up came from a scrap HEMTT at Barstow. The coil spring portion was covered by a rubber bellows that was pretty badly rotted away. Inside the tube housing is a sealed, solid-state component (smells burnt up) on which I can make out "Module, Beacon, Antenna Array". Up inside the...
The Trimpack antenna I have is on it's own plate which sits under the base of the larger comm. antenna. The Trimpack antenna is attached to it's base with screws rather than a magnet. Austin Aviation (beltfed 34) has the mounts occasionally on ebay.
About a week ago there was a discussion about battery tray adapters to let you run Optima batteries in the tray designed for 6TLs. Is there enough need/interest in running Optimas to be worth pursuing? These trays are designed to only accept the Optimas so they wouldn't help if you just wanted...
RE: Re: RE: Freeze plug went into the block
Mike, a magnet is your best hope. Find one on a spring handle 'cause anything else won't be able to move around inside the water jacket to get at the freeze plug. Can you fish it any closer to the hole with a bent piece of coat hanger?
Hear this one...
I know the Solargizers have been talked about in previous posts but I haven't seen an answer to this particular question. The Solargizers will trickle charge a good battery to keep it up but their chief benefit is for desulfating the plates. I'm running two Optima batteries which are a gel-cell...
You might also look into slide-in baffle assys. Diesels don't seem to like ANY back pressure, so some way to cool the exhaust gases or give them a larger diameter pipe/stack to expand into thereby reducing the exhaust gas to atmospheric over-pressure differential would be the way to go...
RE: Dropside pics
When I talk to myself, I get shorter answers... and they always agree with me.
You guys are just jealous because the voices talk to me and not to you.
RE: Dropside pics
Whatcha saying? 'Bout time to change my avatar? That big yellow square is the only way I can spot some of the drivel I write; keeps me from answering myself... too often.
I'm looking at having to make a set of drop-side sides. I'd like some good shots of the half on the bed deck and the half on the drop-side. Also, whatever keeps the tailgate closed as well as the retainers that keep the sides up in place; probably something attached to the head board that swings...
We'd never do that G.H., just glad to help.
If you want to see what that grayish-blue 35240, or any FS-595b color, looks like; go to www.colorserver.net and enter the five-digit color code. Handy site to have.
