For the four-color system; winter artic is all white. Summer artic is 45% white, 45% native (local to the area) earth tone brown to simulate partialy thawed ground, 5% sand and 5% black.
The three-color system winter artic is 90% white and 10% 35240 blue (kind of a grayish-blue to simulate...
I did a google search for "hydraulic fitting id" and got a site listing for jgbhose.com but for some reason when I posted the link here it wouldn't come up. Maybe you guys will have better luck. The site also has a tab marked "JGB Military" that looks like it's got some useful information.
The...
RE: Re: RE: 3 Lever History
I've got a variation in that the connector comes out the side but all of them tap into the brake light circuit for turn signal application.
The Problem: You can find 24v headlight bulbs but with the standard three-prong base, not the mil. spec. connectors. Or, you've converted your MV over to 12v but don't want to hack up the G.I. wiring harness at the headlights.
The Solution: Acme Headlight Adapters. Get a pair of these NAPA...
Very good idea as long as you don't eventually end up with the entire dash ten in sticker form. How 'bout this; A warning and the procedure for checking for hydrostatic lock printed on a plastic tag/card that you could hang on the in-cab main power switch for vehicles that were to be parked for...
The numbers are stamped into the frame. I think I'd stay clear of any paint stripper capable of removing metal. Wire brushing them with a cup-type wire brush on my 4" angle grinder works good for me. Chemical strippers like Jasco that take paint down a layer or two at a time are good to pinpoint...
What equipment are you using? If you have a good-sized sand-blasting rig then any of the available media should work from dried sand to the more abrasive fly ash. If you've got a smaller home shop set-up I'd stick with dried sand (comes in 50# bags; you don't want the stuff from an aggregate...
RE: Re: RE: M35A2 Mini Light Kit info
emr, are your small lights in marker light style housings? And are the lenses round or like the old marker light lenses? Our M939s have a marker light outboard of the parking light brackets but they face outward.
Just wondering if you've got the LED markers...
Nothing wrong with wanting to make a buck or two... that's a given. But it's also understood (at least on this site) that we all pitch in to help each other; with ideas, hands-on mechanical stuff, pointers for troubleshooting, hauling... the list goes on and on.
If anyone from General Motors to...
I dunno, Bjorn... maybe mine take a while for the wires to fill up with 'lectricity before it overflows into the bulbs.
Whatever they're doing; both of mine, as well as the flashers on every truck in our motor pool all work the same.
I really like a well thought out project-- it's all in the details. Like the way he's maintained the departure angle by making the rear wall of the camper carry that angle too. And the fact that he used some of an existing Unimog design in making his sub-frame. Pretty slick.
That's an excellant idea, Goldneagle. That way it wouldn't even start if they could get it rolling then 'pop-the-clutch'.
Sermis is right too about killing main power from the batteries being an excellant deterrant-- that also keeps anyone (self included) from running your batteries down by...
I'd stick with the 7-8# range. A little dribble may just be excess coolant it's pushing out to get down to a level it likes. Once there you shouldn't have any more coolant loss. Just keep an eye on it and remember to include it in your pre-drive checklist.
The 14-15# caps are for the M-800...
