    Deuce Fuel

A multifuel's pump automatically adjusts for changes in the viscosity of the fuel. Thats what allows it to run almost any mix of thick and thin fuels, such as motor oil. Personally I would run a decent mix of diesel or gas in there to thin it a bit, to make it easier to get through lines...

Frodo 2 M796 Bolster Recovery, Done

Yea, the ratings are a joke. I'm more concerned with the tires, they are the weakest link. Toss on a set of dually 9.00-20s and you have a MAJOR trailer. Jim

Frodo 2 M796 Bolster Recovery, Done

:idea:Lets see, 2 bolster trailers = 8 low profile tires. Frodo's gonna do a low-rider Deuce! :cookoo: My father uses one of his bolsters as a log trailer. Welded on some uprights and they work great. One of the loads we did a couple weeks ago had 12.5 tons of trees on the trailer. Only went...

If you're still waitin on EUC

You know its absolutely rediculous that we are forced into a time limit set by THEM, that we have no control over, only THEY do. They set the time limit, then control whether we meet it or not. I can kind of understand time limits for item removal- they want to make room for more stuff ASAP...

    Fall New England Roadtrip (Deuce)

Depending on exactly which way you come up, you could come up I-91 then take Rt. 9 across southern VT, you will see some beautiful mountains and scenery. Check out Hogback and take pics. Then up Rt. 100, another beautiful country road, and depending how far up you need to go, the Killington area...

NO EUC but brother has one. Advice

When dealing with GL, you have as much chance of having things go smoothly as he does. For you to bid through GL and buy a truck, you just have to sit down at a computer, sigh up with GL (doesn't take long and is free, like signing up for anything else online), then once you have bid on, and...

Want 12 volt for radio ect.

That would make sense. And I see no problem at all using one of these just to maintain a charge on a battery. Consider that one of the ones I posted has a 45a output, not all that long ago there were alternators that put out less amperage! Jim

    Deuce Fuel

I agree 100%. By govt. thinking, the tax is on FUEL, and ANY fuel that is run on the road. Putting anything into your tank, whatever it is, and burning it to move on the road, makes it road fuel and taxable. By their reasoning, if we found a way to power our vehicles with water, it would be...

If you're still waitin on EUC

40 days as of today. I sure hope the poster who said time was extended to 60 days is correct! Long time for my 5th GL auction (6th item purchased). Jim

    m105 dump bed trailer

Without me going back and reading 5 or so pages of posts, I believe its been said that the motor will run on either 12v or 24v (correct me if I missed something to the contrary). But you need solenoids matching your system. Why not hook up 12v and 24v solenoids in parallel, and wire it up so you...

    Deuce Fuel

This is a big gray area. If you go by the letter of the law, you can be fined for running anything in your fuel tank that you haven't paid taxes on, including WVO and home-brew biodiesel. From the forums I've been on, I don't think its ever been completely tested in court. If you want to be 100%...

If you're still waitin on EUC

I know what you mean. When I go to our local state surplus auctions I always hope for bad weather. The cheaper stuff is usually near the end, and if its been a cold, wet day most people have packed up and left early, leaving the fools...I mean shrewd buyers...to bid on whats left. In bad weather...

Does anyone have pics of how to flip the rear hubs on a deuce?

Are you in Alaska? Just wondering how you can leave them in the sun overnight.:razz: Glad I followed through the links to the photos. I've always wondered by looking at other threads and photos how the drum can end up mounted to the other end of the hub, until it finally dawned on me...

    Deuce Fuel

For used oil, I have kind of a slick setup, just waiting to test it until I get my Deuces home. I got one of the 20-gallon oil drain buckets off ebay (same one Napa gets around $200 for, I paid around $120). Its on wheels, holds 20 gallons, and empties by hooking up an air hose and emptying...

Want 12 volt for radio ect.

I would think they would charge a battery fine, but keep in mind the amperage of the converters. I'd put a circuit breaker in between, lets say a 40a breaker for a 45a converter. The battery won't charge all that quickly, depending on the converter. Although at 40a, it would be a decently quick...

    I got my first M35

Congrats! I've read that some of the Ft. Drum trucks weren't in good shape, but that one sure looks nice. Glad you got a good one! My wife wants me to sell both of mine when I get them home. Original plan was to buy 2, sell one to pay for my keeper, then buy another to resell. But its taking so...

    bobbed and lifted deuce

I like the looks and like the truck, but one problem I haven't seen mentioned- I believe DOT does NOT allow these frames to be welded to. Thats why the original parts are bolted or riveted on. Keep in mind you aren't working on a regular pickup. I'm not sure what the properties of a Deuce's...

If you're still waitin on EUC

It sounds like a typical govt solution to a problem- extend the waiting time instead of streamlining the EUC process. It takes less time than this to do a background check to meet the President than to buy a 40 year old truck. Jim

    Non-original paint colors/schemes

I'm not a purist, but here are my feelings. Its your truck, do whatever you want. Personally I wouldn't even encourage someone to keep it original, because these aren't super rare vehicles, and paint color isn't going to really affect the value. I personally am very impressed with some of the...

Late fees when Regestering at D.M.V.??

Unfortunately, for an entity to have desire to offer good customer service, there needs to be competition (if WalMart are a-holes, you shop somewhere else). There is no competition for the govt, so they have no reason to improve their customer service. Sure, we can complain all we want, but...
