I have a Deuce to pick up down there, if I can ever get my EUC back. I've never dealt with them, so I'll watch this thread. Let us know how you made out after the recovery.
Which event # was yours?

Some states, such as New Hampshire, even allow you to register the truck using the painted on ID numbers, and not have to run a license plate. All normal antique vehicle rules apply.
I considered doing this for one of mine, but decided against it. The antique rules limit use too much, and I...
I can't tell you that...I don't know what the extra wires would be for. I saw some others advertised that had the extra wires as well. The 10a one I have (pictured in my earlier post) only has 2 in, 2 out. Hopefully someone with more experience than I will chime in.

I don't think there would be a problem for trailer brakes, thats a short intermittent draw. I wouldn't use it for full trailer lights though, unless maybe if they are LED (very low power requirement).
My theory about tapping into 1 battery for small draw items is that no 2 batteries are exactly...
Wow. For just a little more than half that price (when you factor in shipping) you can get THIS converter, 45a, brand new (not used). Seems like a better deal...3 times the output for $23 less. Just a thought. I didn't see the 45a versions available when I bought mine, otherwise I would have...
This is the hitch I made for behind my Durango. Looks scary, but I welded it well and designed it to be SOLID. After the M105 recovery I've used it to tow a heavy load of scrap steel to the recycler, no issues.
And the tow of the trailers. With less tongue weight the trailers tow level, so...
I'm planning to tap into one battery to power the small blower on my 12v heater unit I'm installing. Its rated as only drawing 1.5 amps...not sure how a blower can only draw 1.5, but we'll see. For personal electronics- GPS, charging the MP3 player and cell phone, and CB radio, I bought one of...
I had that happen with an Optima I had in my Jeep. One day while driving I heard what sounded like a leaking tire. Stopped the Jeep and then I could see something smoking from under the hood. Popped it (carefully) and the battery was spewing lots of fluid from the vent, enough that it got all...
No pic, he's about 2 1/2 hours from me, but he made it to fit into the tow points on a 5-ton. Anyone know if those have the same spread as a Deuce?
Its no work of art, but it got a 5-ton from PA to NH. Its not like fabbing one up is difficult anyway, especially if you plan to use it for a...
You can buy the "medium tow bar" (gov't version) or build your own, as my father did for a 5-ton recovery. He might even let you use his...he's Beaubeau on here. I like to do my own recoveries because I enjoy it, and its part of the Deuce-buying experience. Obviously if you don't have the time...
I just noticed this thread since it was brought up again. I don't want to sound sarcastic or anything, just trying to get a handle on things...
I've lived in a cold climate all my life, the past 7 years in a VERY cold area. -35 is fairly common in the winter, and some of the places I've been is...
If you want help driving them back I'd be up for it! Although fuel for 2 Deuces that far wouldn't be much less than hiring it done. A towbar would make it slick though.

If all else fails, do away with the sway bar. With suspension as heavy as those, it doesn't amount to much (if anything) anyway. Most lifts for those trucks do away with them as well. You have a truck, not a sports car. On that body style truck they weren't available from the factory all years...
Exactly. Depending on condition, with the current trend in prices (and lots of Deuces available) I think I'm right on the money for a truck thats been gone through and ready to use. Double or triple that is just crazy. Of course there are exceptions for more rare vehicles...the 109s seem to...
Thats the stupid part...it wasn't a better pic they needed, they said it was expired and they needed the renewed license. I sent them the exact same picture I originally sent with my EUC (which is a current license), and got this reply back:
"In receipt, thank you."
Its been 34 days since I...
From what I've seen anyone reselling these trucks get a LOT more than what they sell for from GL. Any will be, because of whats involved- having money tied up with GL during the approval process, taking a chance on the truck's actual condition, the recovery process and cost, then going through...
