My painter hired a gal who blasts/paints equipment for a living to do it. She used 2000 lbs of sand!!! Took her 12-14 hours. The trick here is that you need to move super slow on thin metal or it will warp. She did an awesome job. The truck looked kind of cool all bare steel.
Cleaning up all...
I just had my 109 100% painted on the outside only. We used 4 gallons of paint cut with one gallon of Xylene. The painter used a "paint pot" with a gun. I'm not sure, but I do not think it was a HVLP gun. This thing really laid the paint down! For inside and out, I would err on the side of...
I have been asked If I could round up some trucks for the Parade in Winlock. Saturday, Nov 5th at high noon.
I figure we could meet at my place just north of Winlock around 1000 and then convoy down to the line-up around 1100.

bumper numbers?
I'm going to "assign" this truck to the unit that my grandfather died in. He assumed command of the 15th Aviation Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division on 6 AUG 1964. The truck is a '63. He was killed in Feb of 65.
So...Do I need more info for bumper #'s? A company #?

13 months later..........
The 109 gets a much needed makeover. Had it blasted down to bare steel. Minor amount of body work. Primed with DP-40. Hosed down with 24087. 4 gallons cut with a gallon of Xylene. We ended up with about a quart of material left in the pressure pot.
Markings are next...
