For someone tooling around on the street, the 3/4 ton stuff is ideal. The 10 bolt rear is the achilles heel of the M1009 so the addition of a full float rear is a huge step up. The 72 4x4 will likely have a 60 in the back. Memory says they also have a narrower spring perch width. Larger front...
So now we need to scare up both the modified bar and the factory produced bar and record all of the critical dimensions for a towbar sticky. Memory says that the older bar NSN ends in 6056 and the newer 7094 if.memory is engaged. I have an older bar sans collars I can measure on my next days...
Care to elaborate? The collars were an MWO. The kit consisted of the 4 collars and some stuff to monitor the temps of the material as it was welded. I don't see how sliding a collar over a tube and welding it would cause the described condition.
We should formulate a list of "Gimpy Approved" vises. I think he has a vise vice. Lets see, There is Wilton, Yost and Anchor so far. Any more Gimpster?
I would figure the tailgate would break before the vise. My truck didn't have one. I put a baby Wilton on the corner of the tailgate and a big honkin Yost on the slide out workbench. So nice to have a vise (or two) in the field.
Stay alert, stay alive. Visit the safety forum. There is a super good safety thread going on right now. Stock upnon some of the safety supplies and you will likely never need them. Welcome back to the mix.
What are you seeing that makes you think that? Not saying it isn't, just curious. I did note the lack of a pioneer tool rack but it has a curved exhaust stack and a slave receptacle.
