Sanded. And painted. And and sanded and painted, and sanded and painted. Racing the rain. In the driveway. On a hill where the breeze is always uphill.
Did you know that 25 - 30 mph gusts can consume an extra can of spray paint in less than an hour?

I can provide one matched to Gillespie that you might like if you can use Benjamin Moore. Arvoe is much darker.
Would that help? I've heard that BM is an eastern brand.

I have a Reese 12 1/2" riser with a pintle bolted on for my E-350. Some are noted for only 'drop'. Mine is labeled for 'drop' or 'rise'. Worth checking for legalities and insurance.
You're probably a tad shorter than the E-350 so the height should be to your advantage. Here are some...
Be careful with abrasives because mine was so shallow I came dangerously close to sanding it out with 320 paper. I could have easily sanded it off if I didn't catch what was happening immediately I ended up using graffiti remover and a rag to get it. I'd use that or paint remover knowing what I...
"...I was told by the Tag Office, the only way to get a title for this truck is to file a Declaratory Judgement in small claims court and get a court ordered title...."
I'd look into what's involved to do that, get my required proofs in order, and give it a try. Might be less aggravation...
24087 Color Match Photos
Here are a couple of in progress photos of the Ben Moore P29 acrylic color formula for 24087 in my prior post above up against the Gillespie 24087 for comparison. Gillespie on steel; BM on wood.
You can see the half track rig if you look at the video in the ride around the fairgrounds link in my earlier message.
There's a fair glimpse of the whole display area.

Doyle Presentation
I was unable to attend more than about the 1st 25 minutes . That made it the one thing that I didn't count as a win for the show. Hope that he'll be doing it again and that I can catch the whole thing. He was putting out some really interesting stuff.
Big success for me 'cause I didn't spend any money. I've gone through plenty in the last couple of months. Nothin' I needed - except the Jeep for sale and that CCKW . . . . .
I vote for name tags or signs on Easy Ups or somethin'. You get very strange looks at the checkin table when you tell...
I'll be getting there tomorrow a.m. I hope to meet some of the people whose names I've learned from the site. If you see a sorta limping bald guy with a grey beard and a ball cap, mebbe walking a Dobermann out of the back of a grey Econoline, it's prob'ly me. Hope you'll say 'Hi' and introduce...
This week and last week and the week before, too: Spent 'way too much time playing with alternative paint and color matching then ordered spray cans (separate post available if you want a very good recipe for OD Semi in acrylic) sanded, killed rust on bed sides from tailgate thru driver's door...
A quart is going to cost about 40% of a gallon, so if you're going to do more than 1 trailer or more than 1 coat, the gallon is the best deal.
PM, email or give me a call if you'd like formulas for Benjamin Moore in an extremely close Desert Tan, almost perfect 'Dark/aged 383' (like on the bows...
Acrylic 24087 Semi Gloss (Benjamin Moore)
"...I would like to find the formula for Vietnam Era semi gloss OD 24087...QUARKZ"
Here's a Benjamin Moore formula:
