That was easier. No waiting for pictures to load. It's new it will take a bit of getting used to but it will work. Thank you for the update. Happy Holidays.
I don't have a future projects on any pick up models. I just wanted to share in case someone else was interested. I like the new remodeled site format. I have more progress pictures to post on a few of my current CUCV projects. The fuel tank is back in and a few more issues resolved. Have a...
A bit off subject. I stopped at a local scrap yard and they had a Chevy truck. I opened the door and it had factory buckets seats. That is a very rare option. I just wanted to show these. The yard was closed and I was just looking. Very cool. Have a Great Day. It appeared that the overhead had a...
That was easy. It is 10AM and I have met my CUCV goal of the day. I have a woodsplitting job I must complete today off site. That puts the CUCV adventures on back burner for now. Just remember the pintle hitch assembly goes on before the rear bumper face bar. I had a moment this AM after having...
A Kubota should fire up at -25. Mine always did. Try starting it without that thing. Kubota's are made to take on the world. I removed the in line coolant heater because it was just there. The prongs on the heater element were corroded right off. One time it was cold and fired right up. I went...
Another coat of paint on my bumper bolts and my evenings work on this project is complete. I turned them all in the bracket so I could get every side evenly. It counts. Getting something done is getting something done. Beats getting nothing at all completed. Be Safe. I hope to have a helper...
Tonight after work I decided to get new fuel tank coated. It was about 45* nothing falling from the sky. Perfect as it gets today. I washed the fuel tank with Prep-Sol wax and grease remover and set it outside. I dried it and blew it dry with air. Mixed up a batch of undercoating and went at...
I ended up ordering one from Summit. The Amazon one was on backorder. WOW must be a lot of people changing fuel socks.

POST 201. I use a little more aggressive method than scuffing. I disassemble the hubs and use the 30 2" rotary pads to get down to the copper layer below the chrome. Use a good etching...
I thought I mentioned that. post # 5
I would say the 3 prong plug on the tail lamp harness has issues. Pull that light again and remove the short tail lamp harness and thoroughly inspect it. Good Luck.
Anyways. No need to do headlamp harness updating and all that other stuff. Just clean and...
I am going to market it when it is completed. I would like it to go to the Chevrolet dealer showroom for Memorial Day. I have 2 more M1009's after this project and I am retiring from CUCV's. I said that before but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I want a new hobby. Rock Crushing...
WOW. Almost 24 hours and nobody has done anything on their CUCV or posted and improvements. When I get to my shop I am going to paint 8 grade 8 carriage bolts Flat Black so I can install the rear bumper on Friday. It may not sound like much but it is a step in the right direction and every step...
Does the 30 amp green fuse on the right side of the fuse box about 1/2 way up look melted, corroded or distorted in any way? I would say the 3 prong plug on the tail lamp harness has issues. Pull that light again and remove the short tail lamp harness and thoroughly inspect it. Good Luck.
Sounds like a dead short. If it blows the fuse instantly. Hard thing to diagnose over the internet. Could be anywhere in the effected circuit. Has ice built up on wiring and torn it loose? I would say check you front park turn sockets and your tail lamps. Good Luck. Report back. Be Safe. Get a...
I would say a cotter pin. Or perhaps a roll pin. But you must take up the slop. That gets a beating back and forth if you don't keep it semi tight. If it is out of square it could be stressing the pins and shearing them easily. Use steel or washers to get it tight. Then grease the crap out of...
They will rub on hard flex and off road. I would recommend staying with the 31". Or NOT. Trim away. I wheeled the stock M1009 many times and it will do the job with 31" tires. Happy Holidays. I also have a complete 4" lift I removed from an M1009.
The fuel tank is out. And I exceeded my goal for the day. I really don't think the fuel tank is leaking but at this point I am going to coat a new one and install it along with a new pick up sock. The fuel line was leaking and probably when the fuel expanded in the heat it was a straight leak...
