Probably due to the different mfg's of the engines and the engineers involved. The NHC/NTC used the same crankshaftr for years. In the past few years, some of the newer industrial engines that don't use the lower end journal size of the N14 have had two journals less of counter weight. Dunno...
I was pulled over once just for the LEO to look at the truck. I got a tad worried trying to think of what I night have done, but turns out he just wanted to see the truck!
If you are there, do the drain line too. It will be easier to take the whole drain line off so you can clean the old gasket off of the turbo and drain line flange. Not a big job.
All,
Went out to the general area we will be in last weekend. Could not have asked for any better weather! High 60's daytime, low 50's to high 40's at night, no wind! Man, if this is any indication of what we are to expect, it will be an AWSOME weekend! I have some pics, but the camera is going...
It actually had 10 bids but didn't meet the reserve. If it were me, i'd check the ownership. No too many in private posession and just 'cause ha says he owns it...
Unless yours is already converted to the air side, don't waste your time with a new switch. Buy the Saturn upgrade and put it on the air side.

Did you try tightening them? The w/p is eccentric, loosen the 3/8 capscrews around the pump and give it a turn. The pump seal ring MIGHT leak after the adjustment though.
There is a Cummins parts manual in the TM section for the NHC. I think it is on the 1st page. It has all the Cummins part numbers, old ones, but the parts goofs SHOULD be able to supersede an old number to a new one. Some of the hard parts still have the original...
The LBZ doesn't have the injector issues the LLY had. As for the DT vs Cummins, have you driven the two? The B will run circles around the DT. I have had both on the dyno and the B is a much harder running engine and has better holding power. The DT makes OK power but falls off very fast.
If...
This has been covered many, MANY times. A search will yield oodles of hits. In a nutshell, read the label, if it is yellow metal compatable, you are good to go. IDK if i'd put 30wt motor oil in a vehicle that has the 26k capabilities, it might be a tad much for the lube.
Zinc and phosphorus have been added to lube oil for a long time. Before there were valve seals on modern diesel engines,
oil was drawn past the guides and burned. That is what some of the PM that comes out the tail pipe was and one of
the reasons for using specially formulated oils in new...
I'll probably do the ring at the Museum, there are forklifts there. Your boots OK or do they need replacement too? I just gave my last one to a guy from here, and haven't heard from him on the replacement so I gotta get a few more. I can get some for you at the same time. I think I'm gonna go...
