While idly looking through the various post I remember someone was looking for M-880 cargo cover, seats, and bows. Today I received my latest copy of Ohio Motorpool and the following parts were listed
1. M-880 Troop seats, cargo covers, bows and brackets - $200.00

ideas
How about building the boxes similar to the photo, and building a separate piece of decking (wood) similar to a squared U that when you wanted to service the truck the ends of the U sit on the fenders and a brace/support rests on the winch of cut-out in the bumper. Flush with fenders...
tires
There are a number of products that you can put in the tires to smooth them out. I have seen one that resembles sand and goes in the tube. The guy who showed it to me swears by it and I respect his opinion. I will try to find out the name of the product he recommends and pass it along
Answered my own question
Well I answered my own question. A few weeks ago I went to an auction and bought a pile of rotten bows just for the hardware and a couple of fiberglass bows in the pile. I got to looking at them this afternoon and darned if they didn't have some straps on them. My...
oil filter
I, like everyone else, likes to keep cost down. So what about going to the friendly neighborhood truck wrecking yard and buying a used (I have heard them referred to as a Lube-a-finer(sp?) Unit and installing that? After all, its pretty much a housing with a couple of hoses...
Canvas
Thanks for the definitive word on how the canvas should be placed. Do you know the dimensions of the little straps that hold the canvas up? Is this something you can get from one of the suppliers of canvas goods? Thanks again.
You got me
I don't know, maybe someone else might know. I would think someone would know : )
Any idea where you could find installation instructions? It might say in them. Don't have a picture that might show them, do you?
Tan top
Thanks jasonjc, any idea where one could get a hold of one? Price? Got a sprayer and put the canvas treatment on. It went on very quickly and the stuff really soaked in. Hopefully, it will make it another year.
I have a OD canvas cover on the rear of the M35, do the little spring clips (looks like they hold some sort of strap that I don't have to roll up the sides) go on the outside? I have always put them on the outside but I am not sure. BTW, can you get a sand colored rear cover? Thanks
Hard starting
Mine did the same thing and it turned out to be that the cable that shuts off the fuel in the pump wasn't retracting fully. As the engine turned over the vibration made the plunger retract into the pump and the engine started. Also, is the engine turning over as fast as it did...
Lights
Could be, the camo color and the fact they were in military auction made me think might be something military. By the way I for got to mention that the numbers are on a truck fender. It was in a crate and looks as if (by painted numbers and faded paper tag) it was new and never put...
I drive past this bed for sale every now and again, yesterday I just happened to have the camera. Its located outside of The Plains Ohio (near Athens). Thought someone might be looking for one.
