I thought I knew what I was doing
I tried to submit the picture but no luck, I will do some studing and post it as soon as I figure out how to do it. Sorry.
I recently went to an auction and bought some stuff that came with some mystery stuff. I was wondering if anyone knew what these light housings and lens covers fit. Sorry for the quality of the picture. If someone is interested in a different shot, and it ever quits raining. I can take...
Top Question
Went to an auction and bought a nice looking almost new metal top for the deuce. The tag said it fit 2 1/2 and 5 ton. But.... its a bit to wide, about 10 inches to wide. Otherwise, everything else seems to fit. Anyone ever cut that much out of a top before? I didn't pay...
Coolant
I once replaced head gaskets on a gas motor and picked up a cooling problem pretty soon afterward. Turned out the head gasket replacement had broken loose some crud that plugger off some of the radiator. Removed the radiator (sadly after having put another set of head gaskets in...
I'll keep doing it until I need a wig
Ouch....I am a child of the spin on era, you like to stay with what you know. Also, righty tighty no leaky...it has its appeal. Besides isn't (sadly) our whole society built on trying to fix something that has worked? If it didn't, I wouldn't have a...
Happy to help
Just so were are ll operating on the same page, the whole oil filter adapter/mount -on engine- appears to be different on mine. I have a spare canister type engine and they do look different. Take a look at the pictures I posted earlier and see if it looks like yours. If you...
I agree
I agree with removing the shafts (KD Tools makes a tool to plug output shaft of Tranny) I welded a tranny or two in my day. Automatics and standards suffer if you tow them very far.
Heating oil
Just got about 275 gallons of home heating oil. Its been in the tank for about 10 years. Its a bit dark so I am guessing there might be a bit of algae (SP?) in it. Any idea of the type of filter (Micron too) I would need to run it through? Also, what type of diesel fuel...
Tow Bar
I use to work for U-Haul and we used the rental tow bars to move the large rental trucks. They are really stout. You might have to rig up a ball on your MV. But. that allows you to tow other things as well. I have see deuces with receivers that are welded on in places that don't...
Old School
Sorry a bit old school here, I don't have Pay Pal account and I really don't like to use credit card. Any way to mail a check? Sorry to be a pain.
Pledge drive
I saw the reminder the other day that if we enjoy the site a little $$ your way wouldn't hurt. I don't remember seeing an address. Where do we send our pledges??? Are you offering tote bags?
stuck valve
DR is right penetrating oil will work its magic over time. Many moons ago we use to use something called Berryman's Chemtool to clean the varnish off of parts and valves and guides. I don't know if they are still in business. If for some reason the penetrating oil does...
Estate sale
I just got off of the phone with Ben (Ben Higgins Auctioneers) at 740-389-6202. He said he would be happy to try to answer any questions anyone would have about the auctions. He said its difficult to contact the widow but he would try. He says there are also more pictures of...
Preview
I didn't see anything about a preview time. If there is and I can get time off of work I can take a look. It might be helpful if there are several requests for a preview. I'll make an inquiry, others might ask and post the response they get.
